Maja Salvador added a feather to her cap with the release of her album “Believe” in 2104, and Vice Ganda was one of her proudest friends.
In this throwback video from Gandang Gabi Vice, the two recalled that Maja used to call herself a ‘frustrated singer.’ But the release of her album, according to Vice, proves that dreamers should rather be called ‘aspiring’ than ‘frustrated.’ Maja didn’t give up on her dream to be a legit recording artist, thus the album title “Believe.”
To feel the glory of Maja’s latest achievement, she was asked to speak like a bonafide singer throughout the interview. Vice asked how Maja takes care of her voice, to which she confidently answered, “Kahit singer ka na, dapat nagvo-voice lessons ka pa rin para talaga para mas ma-improve pa ‘yung voice mo. Katulad kanina, bago ako mag-opening, kailangan nandiyan ‘yung coach ko na si Teacher Annie from The Company.”
Vocal coach Annie Quintos was in the studio to support Maja’s performance. She also helped her explain proper vocalization techniques to Vice. “Dapat mas malaki ang nganga para mas lumabas ang boses,” which Vice exaggeratedly enacted.
Maja also taught Vice how to do tongue trill exercises.
