AC Bonifacio and Ken San Jose wowed the Gandang Gabi Vice audience as they danced to the music of “Señorita” on Sunday, August 4.
Vice Ganda compared the steps he used to do during his earlier days to the ones now, and stressed that the current moves are a lot more difficult. “Ang hirap ng mga sayaw ngayon, ‘noh? Ang hirap!” he said. Vice pointed out that their performance was not at all repetitive and they hardly made mistakes. AC admitted that they commit mistakes during rehearsals, and Ken added that as a team, they both have to trust each other to be able to successfully execute a production number.
Given their stupefying opening number, Vice had to ask how old they started dancing, and was surprised to find out that AC began at the tender age of 3 and Ken at 12. AC shared that the first dance steps that she learned was the tinikling, and as for Ken, he was taught the ‘wave’ moves when he was younger. Vice was so impressed with their talent that he was inspired to give a sample of his “Senorita” dance moves as well, with matching facial expressions and jokes on the side. The teens were dumbfounded when the GGV host showcased his dancing skills, and they were amazed that he could bust a move or two just like any pro dancer. At one point of the show, the three even joined forces, and did the ‘wave’ step utilizing their arms, which they were able to pull off smoothly.
Vice then had a chance to bond with the dance duo and couldn’t help but be impressed by Ken’s accent. “Ang taray ‘noh. ‘Pag galing ka sa ibang bansa at ganyan ka magsalita ang sosyal ng dating. Pero ‘pag Pinoy ka at ganyan ka magsalita, ‘sabaw’ ang tawag dyan. Pero sa kanya ang ganda ng tunog,” he said excitedly. Vice tried to fish some personal information from the two, and asked them about their current relationship status. They underscored that they are just friends and just want to focus on their career. “We’re focused on our careers. We really want to focus on ourselves before another person,” Ken explained.
The Unkabogable Star wanted to see more of their abilities, therefore he asked the pair to take on the You Do Note Dance Challenge but with a twist. When Vice would say ‘Chugs’, they had to dance slow. However, if the host utters ‘Chugugs’, AC and Ken are required to step up the pace. And for the final one, the two had to dance to the highest extent of speed and energy when Vice would say the word ‘Chugug na Chugug.’ The two were able to give an impeccable number while being attentive to Vice’s instructions.
