GGV Toplist Funny Acting Challenges

It’s usually through movies and series that actors get to showcase their acting prowess. But from 2011 to 2020, some of our favorite Kapamilya stars were able to also exhibit their acting chops during their guesting in the well-loved, long-running talk show Gandang Gabi Vice as they enthusiastically took on the hilarious acting challenge of its host, Vice Ganda.

Let’s find out who among our favorite Kapamilya actors accepted the fun dare in this GGV Toplist feature!

In 2017, along with his The Good Son co-actors Jerome Ponce and Nash Aguas, Joshua Garcia imparted the acting tips they got from their veteran co-star Mylene Dizon with regard to expressing the anger of their characters on different levels. Among the three of them, it was Joshua who the Unkabogable Star picked to demonstrate it, but using the iconic “Mekeni, mekeni, dug-dug, do-re-mi” line from the fantaserye Bagani

Prior to their amusing spaghetti showdown in the 2016 comedy flick “Super Parental Guardians,” Vice and Awra initially got us entertained with their on-the-spot acting face-off on GGV during the latter’s guesting alongside her FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano co-stars Coco Martin, Pepe Herrera, and Onyok Pineda. With the impressive spontaneity and wit that Awra displayed, she was able to capture the hearts of everyone, especially the host, who eventually became her nanay-nanayan in showbiz.

With her two children, Arjo and Ria Atayde, following in her footsteps in showbiz, veteran actress Sylvia Sanchez conveyed her pride for both of them whom she described as better actors than her actually, as well as compared how their acting styles are actually different from each other. Thus, the Unkabogable Star put their skills to the test by having them act out two different scenarios that he had given them, through which they’re able to demonstrate how big acting and subdued acting are done.

She may be globally known as a Korean pop superstar, but Sandara Park, who’s more famous by the mononym “Dara” when she joined the Hallyu group 2NE1, still has her heart for the Philippines as she keeps on coming back here often. And in one of her GGV appearances, she was joined by her “new best friend” Ryan Bang, whose dream of acting with her came true after they were dared by Vice to spoof a dramatic scene between Jericho Rosales and Angel Locsin in the hit series The Legal Wife. They were still able to pull it off, even though Sandara found it difficult to remain serious as she watched Ryan deliver his lines.

Following his transfer to ABS-CBN in 2015, the Unkabogable Star put Elmo Magalona’s skills to the test by having him take on a funny acting challenge. In the scenario devised by the GGV team, Elmo would catch him and Negi red-handed while robbing his underwear at his house. They almost weren’t able to finish the scene as Vice kept on interrupting him to give instructions for their skit.

Sharon Cuneta is not called the “Megastar” for nothing. And she’s able to prove it in one of her guest appearances in the comedy talk show, wherein she was asked to reenact a scene from her three films – “Kung Ako Na Lang Sana” (2003), “Maging Sino Ka Man” (1991), and “My Only Love” (1982) – together with stand-up comics Mitch Montecarlo Suansane, Iyah Mina, who assumed the characters of her leading men. It might be difficult to get through each scene as her co-actors relentlessly made her laugh, yet Sharon still made it.

Last, but definitely not least, is the Diamond Star Maricel Soriano, who also gamely took on Vice’s acting challenge opposite comedians Mitch Montecarlo Suansane and Brenda Mage. With how she really got herself into the scene, the two had the “privilege” to experience her award-winning acting and highly coveted slap.

Which of these funny acting challenges did you enjoy watching the most, Kapamilya?
