Our Sunday evenings in the past nine years have been filled with good vibes and laughter, thanks to Gandang Gabi Vice, its gregarious and well-rounded host Vice Ganda, and the hundreds of celebrity and non-celebrity guests that graced the show.
However, it’s not only good vibes and laughter that the weekly comedy talk show had offered us for it also left us all kilig with the appearances of some of the most well-loved on-screen tandems, as well as real-life sweethearts. Let’s revisit the showbiz couples who had their guestings in the program via this feature!
Hot and young-looking couple Aubrey Miles and Troy Montero made the summer of 2018 extra sizzling as they blessed our screens with their stint on the show, wherein they talked about their nude photos that completely went viral that year and even demonstrated the tandem workout they do in order to maintain their well-toned bodies. They also made us LOL (laugh out loud) with their responses in the intriguing questions of Vice Ganda in the “Saan, Kailan, Sino” game.
Fresh from their enormous engagement, Isabel Oli and John Prats thrilled us with their appearance as they enthusiastically shared their cute love story and what went down during John’s awe-inspiring flash mob-infused marriage proposal.
Four years after their highly talked about nuptials, Carmina Villarroel and Zoren Legaspi left us all giggling with their hilarious interview with the Unkabogable Star as they divulged how their quirky romance started and the story behind the surprise wedding Zoren prepared for Carmina.
Newly-engaged couple then Moira Dela Torre and Jason Hernandez took us back to the time when the “Tagpuan” music video was being shot wherein the latter surprised the former with a marriage proposal. They also narrated their love journey from being friends and best friends to becoming lovers, introduced their pet dog, performed their rendition of Shantidope’s “Nadarang”, and even accepted the on-the-spot song composing challenge of the host-comedian.
Dropping by GGV to promote her film “Nakalimutan Ko Nang Kalimutan Ka,” Alex Gonzaga tagged along her non-showbiz boyfriend Mikee Morada with her as they opened up about their two-year relationship and even had a duet of the classic love song “A Very Special Love”.
Many of us were surely thrilled, too, upon hearing the funny yet inspiring romance of Kapamilya singers KZ Tandingan and TJ Monterde when they guested on the program in 2017. More so when they did an impromptu mashup of random songs, when KZ sang the song she wrote for TJ, and when the latter performed the former’s hit “Mahal Ko O Mahal Ako”.
Kilig also filled one of the episodes of the show in 2015 when American actor Lee ‘O Brian accompanied comedienne-actress Pokwang in the promotion of their movie then, “Edsa Woolworth,” as he gleefully talked about their blossoming friendship and expressed how he would heavily consider staying in the Philippines if she would ask him to do so.
Other notable real-life couples who graced the show and spread kilig and good vibes were on-screen sweethearts LoiNie (Loisa Andalio and Ronnie Alonte), KathNiel (Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla), LizQuen (Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil), and KimXi (Kim Chiu and Xian Lim).
Of course, since this is his program, host Vice Ganda also had his own share of thrilling moment. It can be recalled that prior to his partner Ion Perez’s entrance in It’s Showtime as Kuya Escort, their paths initially crossed in 2017 on GGV, thanks to his anak-anakan Carlo Mendoza’s naughtiness. And 2019, Ion made a comeback not as an audience member, but as an accessory to the prank organized by Ms. Charo Santos-Concio and Bea Alonzo during their guesting. There, the ABS-CBN executive asked them about the real deal between them, to which Ion replied, “Special siya sa akin.”
