In his guesting in the latest episode of the FYE Channel’s “Bawal Ma-Stress Drilon” alongside his Init Sa Magdamag co-stars, Gerald Anderson shared his thoughts regarding the most memorable role he portrayed in his whole acting career.
His first pick was the 2011 primetime series Budoy, since it was the most complicated yet impactful among all the characters that he has done. Aside from bringing enough light to the condition of mentally-challenged people, it also gave enough respect to the hardships and sacrifices of the families of special children who selflessly and tirelessly take good care of them.
The well-loved advoca-serye is truly unforgettable because of the legacy it imprinted in the Philippine entertainment scene. It reminded us a lot of realities, such as how other people can love you selflessly and unassumingly even though you’re not bound by blood.
A Soldier’s Heart was also an unforgettable project for Gerald because of its relevance and timeliness, since it was released at the time when the country was in the midst of challenging times due to the hard-hitting pandemic and ABS-CBN being denied of franchise renewal. He described his role as Alex Marasigan as an inspiration to everyone because he showed that we could all get through our problems and our obstacles if we just continue to fight.
The primetime drama caught the hearts of the audiences, especially of families who could relate very much to the sacrifices that military men just to serve the country. Aside from its star-studded cast and remarkable storyline, what made A Soldier’s Heart worthy of acclaim was the action-packed scenes along with the moving dramatic scenes made possible by the impeccable acting of the cast ensemble.
Moreover, it should also be considered that it was filmed in the middle of a pandemic, yet the whole team was still able to produce an outstanding project.
