After leaving the spotlight many years ago to live a simple and quiet life as a hands-on homemaker to her beloved family and as hardworking entrepreneur, Neri Naig-Miranda is now seemingly slowly building her empire through her best-selling gourmet tuyo.
In her recent guesting in the FYE Channel talk program Bawal Ma-Stress Drilon on KUMU, she proudly revealed to host Ces Oreña-Drilon that she already has more than 3,000 resellers not just here in the Philippines, but in different parts of the world as well. She also diligently worked on making it Halal-certified and FDA (Food and Drug Administration)-approved during this pandemic so that they could export their products abroad.
From only preparing it at their home kitchen, the influx of orders and being reported by their foreigner neighbors at the same time because of the stench smell of tuyo, made them decide to transfer to a bigger warehouse.
The Star Circle Teen Quest Season 1 alumna imparted that they are using the recipe she formulated after seeing the variety of gourmet tuyo she spotted at the house of her in-laws that sparked an inspiration in her. She also described how she loves eating her favorite tuyo with fried rice and vinegar, and recalled how she came up with her recipe.
While her husband and OPM icon Chito Miranda refused to try her first attempt in gourmet tuyo, it was their friends who encouraged her to turn it into a business as they loved how it tasted. As Neri’s gourmet tuyo began to become popular, she was eventually invited to bazaars wherein she has the chance to further present her product to more people.
