In this episode of the online KUMU show “Bawal Ma-Stress Drilon”, host Ces Oreña-Drilon was joined by the cast of the upcoming Kapamilya series Init Sa Magdamag as they talked about their respective showbiz careers.
First off was JM De Guzman, who reminisced his memorable experiences as the lead actor in his biggest break, the 2011 afternoon soap opera Angelito: Batang Ama, that was warmly accepted by the audience. Aside from its stellar ensemble, the series was arguably well-received because of its very relatable theme and story, which revolved around the romance and plight of his character Angelito and his love interest Rosalie (Charee Pineda).
The 32-year-old seasoned actor shared that he considers Angelito as the most memorable role he portrayed throughout his acting career because of its notable storyline. According to him, the concept of the series was inspired by the prevailing stories of Pinoy Big Brother male auditionees at that time who were mostly young fathers or “binatang ama”. Thus, ABS-CBN decided to come up with a teleserye that could empathize with, reach out to, and inspire the young fathers out there.
Besides, it’s also notable for JM since it was his first-ever title role and he definitely learned so much from playing Angelito. Portraying the role also made him appreciate the sacrifices and love of his father and grandfather more. When asked when he wants to have kids, he jestingly answered, “bukas po”.
