Jayda Avanzado, without a doubt is one of the most beautiful, most talented, and brightest stars of her generation. Aside from her captivating beauty, she also brandishes notable prowess in singing and songwriting that she apparently inherited from her OPM icon parents Dingdong Avanzado and Jessa Zaragoza.
But despite having them as parents, she’s able to step out of their shadows and slowly make a name for herself at a very young age. And Pop Cinema hosts Bianca Gonzalez and MJ Felipe both expressed how astounded and proud they are of the young artist’s milestones at this point of her career when Jayda graced their show recently.
Aside from simply interviewing her, they also dared her to take on the “Cover with Jayda” challenge, wherein she had to mention the title and sample a bit of the song she would wish to perform with the artist whose images they would flash on the screen.
First off was Filipina-American singer-songwriter Olivia Rodrigo, who rose to fame for her chart-topping hit “Driver’s license” – the same song she would want to sing with her.
Next was Ariana Grande, to whom she’s being compared to by her fans and showbiz onlookers. It may probably be difficult to collaborate with her because of her vocal range, but she would love to sing one of her favorite tracks of her titled “P.O.V.” with her.
When asked what her reaction is to the comparisons, Jayda enthused how extremely flattered she is.
“I’m flattered! What can I say? She’s such a talented singer and I won’t lie [that] I’ve been a fan of her music like growing up. And yeah, I’m just really flattered by the comparison and obviously our artistry is super different, like our genres are different. Pero ‘yon nga, flattered ako. I admire her for her vocal prowess and I aspire that [being] in control of my voice and I would love to improve the way she has over the past few years,” she related.
