Young and promising actress Francine Diaz is open to tons of opportunities that could come her way. After the success of her role as Cassie in Kadenang Ginto and followed by the challenging role of Joy in Huwag Kang Mangamba, Francine is excited to see what might be next for her.
Francine shares to Pop Cinema hosts Bianca Gonzales and MJ Felipe that she would love to be part of a Korean drama remake locally, if given the chance. Being a K-drama fan herself, she would readily jump on the project.
While on the topic of remakes, a certain netizen mentioned that she would also be perfect for the remake of “Esperanza”, the Filipino teleserye that starred Teleserye Queen Judy Ann Santos during its initial run. Bianca cited that the reason that it may have been brought up was because an online poll asking who would be the right fit to star in the remake blew up recently and Francine won the most votes.
Francine, who was hearing about this poll for the first time, was flattered by the sentiment. Although she hadn’t watched the 1997 teleserye, she has heard great things about its story and production from her parents and her older sisters.
“Siyempre, si Ms. Judy Ann Santos po ‘yan,” she said when asked if she would take on the role if it were offered to her. She added that it would also be a wonderful blessing and opportunity for her career.
Bianca and MJ feel excited for the huge possibility of the remake and having Francine take the role of Esperanza. They definitely see her as the ideal candidate given her amazing work as a drama actress.
