Enchong Dee isn’t just an inspirational figure as Huwag Kang Magamba’s Father Seb, he’s also one in real life. On social media, netizens can see how he is constantly vocal with his opinions and strives to become a positive influence to everyone.
With his natural-born leader personality and open social awareness, Pop Cinema hosts Bianca Gonzales and MJ Felipe ask him if he ever has plans to enter politics or public service.
Enchong admits that he has thought about it before. After all, his course when he was in college was Political Science, so the intention was initially there. However, he explains that he needs to be inspired to seriously consider entering public service and, unfortunately, the current administration isn’t doing that for him.
In spite of that, he’s very much ready to learn and help as part of serving the country, “I do my part as a private citizen. Gagawin ko lahat ng tulong ko. That’s why I’m opening businesses despite of, that’s why I’m still working despite of.”
Bianca contemplates the possibility that when the country does have an administration that Enchong favors, she asks if he would consider entering politics then. The actor doesn’t want to hold himself to any answers as his decision now and in the future may vary. Instead, he says, “My journey is my personal journey. If that opportunity comes and I feel like I will be able to help a lot of people, then so be it.”
