Promising and rising artists Kokoy de Santos and Elijah Canlas, who appeared in the hit Boys' Love (BL) flick “Gameboys,” which is set to stream its second season, were on PopCinema to put their acting skills to the test. Hosts Bianca Gonzales and MJ Felipe had the pair on a dramatic face-off, challenging them to act their hearts out in impromptu scenes.
In one scene, they were tasked to act as a couple, with Elijah receiving a heart reaction from an ex-partner on a photo he posted on social media, and Kokoy getting furiously jealous over it. Without any script, they adlibbed the scene exceptionally, with both Elijah and Kokoy showing intensity and depth in their impromptu portrayal that left MJ and Bianca in awe of their talent.
Bianca said that when the two uttered the first few lines of their dialogue, they already knew how the scene would go. MJ added that what’s even more admirable was that Elijah and Kokoy played their roles so well even they were given just a few minutes to prepare. Viewers however wanted them to infuse a kilig factor in their portrayal.
This is the reason why in their next impromptu scene, Kokoy would confess his feelings to Elijah. But MJ put a little twist on it and said he wanted both of them to act as if they are best friends, making such confession of romantic love difficult. Unsurprisingly, both Kokoy and Elijah still played out their characters so well and naturally that they were even got carried away by their emotions and were brought to tears, leaving Bianca and MJ very impressed.
