Catriona Gray definitely ventured into trying out new things and new crafts after being hailed as Miss Universe 2018. And she’s still so blessed with projects even during the pandemic.
Just recently, she released her latest song “Raise Your Flag”, which was originally performed by KZ Tandingan and rapper Kritiko and was written by Trisha Denise and ABS-CBN Music creative director Jonathan Manalo. Since it was inspired by her remarkable journey in the prestigious pageant, she incorporated her own lyrics to the song, which is under Star Music and Cornerstone Music.
In her latest interview for Metro Chats, she was asked who she thinks could portray her life story in a film. The beauty queen, who’s currently in Australia, didn’t need much time to think about it and answered young singer-songwriter Jayda Avanzado.
She actually had the chance to work with her in a variety show in another network, and was really amazed by Jayda’s incredible talent as a vocalist just like her parents, OPM icons Jessa Zaragoza and Dingdong Avanzado. Besides, the young star is also an old soul and an only child like her.
Little did she know that Jayda has actually been receiving comments and messages regarding her striking resemblance with Catriona, which makes her feel flattered, as well as every time people would encourage her to join beauty competitions.
The promising young artist, who’s now a part of Rise Artists Studio and Star Magic, would joke that she isn’t blessed with a good height, yet she remains open to the idea and possibility of joining beauty pageants if she’s given the opportunity and if it’s really meant for her.
And Catriona was right when she commented on how incredibly talented Jayda is since she’s already able to showcase her music prowess through her songs and performances in the past years. In fact, she just dropped her most recent singles “M.U.” (or “Malabong Usapan”) and “Paano Kung Naging Tayo” that she actually co-produced and co-directed by her.
Lastly, Catriona was quizzed what possible title she would give to her autobiography, which the eloquent and quick-witted beauty queen found it hard to answer.
“I don’t think I’ve been alive for long enough to know the title of my autobiography,” she said. “Maybe ‘creating silver linings’ or something corny,” Catriona added as she laughed at her own response.
