In light of the premiere of Marry Me Marry You, her first-ever teleserye as a Kapamilya, Janine Gutierrez graced the latest episode of the FYE Channel talk show The Best Talk, wherein she enthusiastically talked about being a scion of two of the biggest and most influential clans in Philippine showbiz and how it has been going so far for her as a Kapamilya.
When asked if there were instances that she forgets being a granddaughter of four of the most venerable names in the local entertainment scene, the 31-year-old actress revealed that it never happened.
“No! I can’t forget, Tito Boy,” she enthused and they both erupted to boisterous laughter. “And I think, in the longest time, Tito Boy, ma-share ko lang, na it was my goal to parang remove myself from that category na ‘apo ni ganyan, anak ni ganyan’. And then I actually realized na hindi mo mabubura ‘yon at hindi mo rin dapat hangarin na mabura ‘yon kasi it’s part of who you are. And alam mo ‘yon, Tito Boy, na you are a sum of the family and your loved ones, and it’s gonna bring you good things. So, be proud of where you came from.”
Meanwhile, with regards to her journey as a Kapamilya, she expressed how utterly happy and still in disbelief she is that she’s now part of the network.
She told him, “I’m so happy, Tito Boy. I don’t think my initial excitement has faded in anyway. It’s there talaga and I’m really so happy. Minsan din may mga pagkatataon po rito sa taping, naka-lock-in po kasi kami ngayon, na parang I can’t believe I’m here. And I’m just really happy and excited and very grateful.”
The King of Talk also mentioned the accolades she reaped for her spectacular performance in the revenge thriller film “Babae at Baril”, which includes the Pinakapasadong Aktres award from the 22nd Gawad Pasado, the Best Actress award from the 43rd Gawad Urian, and the Screen International Rising Star Asia Award from the 20th New York Asian Film Festival.
Janine is very much thankful to those who appreciated her work and regarded her courage to finally go after her guts and take the risk to try different roles, which used to be only a dream for her.
