For teenage girls at the cusp of womanhood, having a glittering, grand debut is an ultimate dream. But for Andrea Brillantes, turning 18 is not any different from her previous birthdays.
In an interview with KumuStar Ka, Andrea said she wants to keep her life milestone simple. She is not even planning a big celebration for her 18th birthday. Andrea shared that a coming-of-age party in a social sense was not needed. This is because, she said, she doesn’t have a very active social life and chooses to spend time at home. According to her, she would rather travel and go on adventures instead of going to or holding her own parties.
Andrea also emphasized that she would not want to spend too much money on a debut attended by people whom, according to her, might not even be true to her or act differently when she’s not around. She added that the real friends she knows won’t even be enough for the 18 roses or 18 wishes that are needed for every debut.
Andrea said that she wants her 18th birthday to mark her independence and self-reliance. She added that she despises getting all the attention in such an event and is not used to entertaining guests having not been frequently going to parties. The teen actress explained that she would love it more if she would celebrate it through an intimate gathering with people close to her.
If Andrea does not plan to hold a debut party, why has her pre-debut photos been splashed all over the Internet and shared on social media? She explained that being a fan girl all these years witnessing debut celebrations of such first-rate young actresses as Kathryn Bernardo and Julia Barretto, she thought of doing something similar but without the actual event. Thus, she thought of just having that pre-debut photoshoot to delight her fans.
We have seen how Andrea has matured and grown as an artist through the years and we’re more than sure that she’ll continue to achieve more career milestones in the future.
