Matet De Leon started her showbiz career as a child star and she starred in numerous films. Her first teleserye was in the 2001 primetime drama series Sa Dulo Ng Walang Hanggan starring Claudine Barretto. She portrayed the role of Lucila “Lucy” Ilagan-Cristobal. She also appeared in Kapamilya teleseryes such as May Bukas Pa, Habang May Buhay, Momay, Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala, The Legal Wife, and Pangako Sa ‘Yo. Her most recent television appearances were in the primetime drama series A Love To Last, wherein she played the role of Tracy, the best friend and colleague of Andeng (Bea Alonzo), and in the weekly fantasy series Wansapanataym: My Hair Lady, wherein she portrayed the role of Cristy, the real mother of Goldie/Maria Anna (Loisa Andalio).
Matet is currently seen in the primetime action-drama series FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano. She portrays the role of Menchu, the tita and colleague of Marco (JC Santos) who tried to stop him from pursuing Alyana (Yassi Pressman) because she is still married to Cardo (Coco Martin).
Aside from being a talented actress and being known as the “Bestfriend ng Bayan,” Matet is also a loving wife to her basketball player-turned-chef husband, Mickey Estrada, and a caring mother to their three adorable daughters, Mishka, Mikaela, and Mia. In a guesting for Magandang Buhay, the couple shared that their affair was a result of love at first sight and incessant exchange of text messages. Matet and Mickey happily tied the knot in 2004.
