Meet the younger half-brother of Mark Anthony Fernandez, who plays the irritating Brandon Cabrera on FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, Rap Fernandez.
Raphael “Rap” Gregor Fernandez is the eldest son of Lorna Tolentino and the late action legend Rudy Fernandez. Like his family, he also joined the entertainment industry and became an actor and a director. He was cast in the 2005 films Kadugo, Salamin and Serbisyong Bayan.
In 2011, Rap started to get attention when he appeared as the main antagonist in Wansapanatym Presents: Buhawi Jack, opposite Gerald Anderson, who played the title role.
In his interview before the series was aired, Rap said that he accepted the villain role because he believed that at that time, it was the right opportunity for him to be in the spotlight. He felt that he was ready to be exposed in the showbiz industry, Rap added.
Earning a filmmaking degree at the Ateneo de Manila University, Rap had since been guided by Star Magic founder and head Johnny Manahan in directing, his mother Lorna revealed. Lorna also stated that Rap was more interested in film directing and producing than acting. Still, Rap became open for more opportunities which came his way and accepted some projects as an actor in various shows.
Also in 2011, Rap gave Lorna her first grandchild, Lyla Victoria. It was not long before Lorna spread the news about his granddaughter’s baptism in January 2012.
