Arjo Atayde: The Man Behind FPJ Ang Probinsyano's Joaquin Tuazon
One of the most charming but, at the same time, hated figures in the current ABS-CBN primetime block is Arjo Atayde (real name: Juan Carlos Campo Atayde). He plays the role of Joaquin Tuazon, a police officer who uses his power to protect his family's crime syndicate, in the hit teleserye "FPJ's Ang Probinsyano." He was married to Carmen (Bela Padilla) and was the same reason the pitiful wife was killed.

It seems that the actor has mastered this craft of leading double lives—one as Arjo and one as the character that he portrays. In an interview with Boy Abunda, he said that the challenge for him in his first teleserye, "Dugong Buhay," was "how to pull it off na makita ng mga kaibigan, ng family ko na pag pinanood nila, sasabihin nila, 'a hindi si Arjo 'yan, character niya 'yan." In such statement, we can see how much he loves his acting. "She knows how much I love it, how much I treasure it," he said when asked about how she talks to her mother, award-winning actress Sylvia Sanchez, about their craft.

Looking back at his acting journey, he has indeed reached new heights in his career. After numerous attempts of convincing his mother to allow him to enter showbiz, Arjo finally succeeded during his college years. He asked permission from his mom, who answered: "It's your choice, bahala ka kung anong gusto mong gawin." "This is what I love, this where I fit in," the young actor said about his decision.

Arjo started in the fantasy sci-fi series "E-boy." Topbilled by Bugoy Cariño, E-boy followed the story of a child robot who was given human characteristics. Arjo played the role of Jepoy, an 18-year-old orphan who takes odd jobs to fend for himself.

In the same year, he was recognized at the 26th PMPC Star Awards TV as "Best New Male TV Personality" for his exceptional performance in Maalaala Mo Kaya: Bangka. This was followed by a few other episodes in the longest-running drama anthology such as: Puntod and Tsubibo in 2013, Dos Por Dos and Liham in 2014, Pictures II in 2015, and Itlog in 2016. It was in the "Dos Por Dos" episode wherein Arjo delved into heavy drama by playing the role of a gay parent. He received the Best Single Performance by an Actor award during the 28th PMPC Star Awards for the portrayal. He was nominated for the same award during the 29th PMPC Star Awards for his role in "Liham."
