What’s a revenge drama without sparkling dialogues? Apart from heart-thumping scenes, Dirty Linen also has plenty of lines to remember, and most of them are uttered by Doña Cielo magnificently portrayed by veteran actress Tessie Tomas. Check out her sassiest remarks compiled by Kapamilya Toplist.

In the pilot episode where she ordered her family to get rid of Olivia (Dolly de Leon) and the other three dead helpers’ bodies, she was so mad that we heard all kinds of insults. But, what shocked us the most was her line “magdasal tayo” – that is, after they committed a crime as a family.

The hypocrisy was real in the next scene where she was prayed over by a priest and nuns during the opening of their cockfighting arena. Her kids and grandchildren arrived. Chiara (Francine Diaz) asked permission to party with her cousins, which her parents forbid. However, in the Fiero family, only Doña Cielo has the final say. So, when she uttered, “Hayaan mo sila,” Carlos (John Arcilla) knew he was supposed to stop talking.

When the staff of a luxury shoe brand came over to pitch their new designs and asked which colors Doña Cielo will get, she retorted, “All available colors, please.” Alexa/Mila (Janine Gutierrez) entered the scene and she was offered a big amount of money for her hospital compensation after she was hit by Aidan (Zanjoe Marudo)’s motorbike. The money, she said, is for Alexa’s “pangkain” or whatever she fancies.

The accident and Alexa coming to the mansion were part of bigger revenge plot, so she can set up one of the maids for thief and be her replacement. Doña Cielo reprimands the maid caught with Feliz (Angel Aquino)’s watch in her uniform’s pocket, “Hindi mo ako madadaan sa dramang ganyan. Kahit magsisisigaw ka pa diyan, hindi kita titigilan. Matapos kitang tulungan magbayad ng mga utang mo, ito ang igaganti mo sa akin?”

The helper claimed that she didn’t know how the watch ended up inside her pocket, to which Doña Cielo replied, “Anong hindi mo alam? Naglakad? May paa?” Even Feliz, who was only a victim, received spicy words from her mother: “Ang hirap sa’yo, you’re so gullible, so irresponsible and foolish! Kaya walang nangyayari sa buhay mo!”

During Alexa’s job interview, Doña Ciela was surprised that her résumé says she only had four employers. Feliz butted in, “Ma, baka naman apat lang kasi nagtatagal siya,” to which Doña Cielo clapped back, “Feliz, marunong akong magbasa at mag-compute. Hayaan mo siyang sumagot.” Leona (Janice de Belen) insisted for a thorough background check, sparking off a slight argument with Feliz. Good thing, there was Doña Cielo to settle the dispute: “Ang dami namang issues. Maid lang ang kinukuha natin, not the president of a company.”

An emergency meeting was called upon the discovery of a crook in the company. Carlos took it lightly, saying what the lost is nothing compared to their millions of earnings daily. But Doña Cielo doesn’t like getting scammed, whether it’s a single peso or millions because “sa lahat ng ayaw ko, ‘yung magnanakaw.”

It turns out she doesn’t trust Carlos or any Fiero enough to take charge in the company, “Wala pa akong nakikitang kahit sino sa pamilya ko na pwedeng pumalit sa akin. Don’t you agree, Leona?” she asked, and all Leona could say was, “Yes, Mama.”

She even told Carlos one time, “Sana ang level ng competence mo ay kasintaas ng level of confidence mo” in front of the whole family during dinner.

This one is for those addicted to online shopping: When Feliz was reprimanded for being too materialistic and wasteful with money, she said in her defense, “Ipon ko ‘yan. Tinitipid ko ‘yung kaunting binibigay ninyo sa asawa ko, to which Doña Cielo had a fiery response, “Matipid ka? Eh, ang dami kong nakikitang delivery para sa’yo. Hay naku! You can’t fool me. Hindi pa pinapanganak ang manloloko sa akin.”

There’s always drama in the Fiero mansion but it’s Doña Cielo that gets them through the toughest times. When they argued whether or not to receive their Family of the Year Award in person, the matriarch preached, “Pupunta tayong lahat like one big happy family.”

No one can trick ‘the’ Doña Cielo. When Ador (Epy Quizon) denied that he was the man in his sex videos, Doña Cielo wrathfully said, “Ginagago mo ba kami?” Then again, the “Family of the Year” awarding ceremony shall happen. Before going to the venue, Doña Cielo told Carlos and Leona that they must finish the event first before divulging Ador’s secrets to Feliz, which Carlos thought was a bad idea. Doña Cielo asserted, “I have no bad ideas, Carlos. Kayo lang.”

When they arrived at the venue, Doña Cielo had a graceful exchange with the organizers where she bragged about their family’s perfection. “Family is first ministry. Kaya naging matagumpay ang negosyo ng mga Fiero dahil tinatrato namin ang lahat ng mga tao na tulad ng pagtrato namin sa aming pamilya. Our business is built on our good reputation. Sana huwag lang tularan ng ga tao ang negosyo namin kundi tularan rin ang aming mga values.”

However, that night, the Fieros’ reputation was stained when Ador’s sex video was played for everyone to watch, resulting in a conflict within the family. Feliz fought for her marriage and spitted out threats, which Doña Cielo managed to deflect, “Are you blackmailing me? Subukan mo! Tandan mo, when you bring us down, you will also go down.”
