A cheater being cheated on – talk about karma! The town of El Hambra has known Carlos (John Arcilla) as a notorious womanizer, and even his own family and wife Leona (Janice de Belen) is aware of his infidelity. So when tables turned and he started to smell Leona’s extramarital affair, too, he turned crazy wild hunting for evidence.

In this Kapamilya Toplist, we rounded up scenes of Carlos getting suspicious over Leona’s dirty little secret in Dirty Linen.

He just felt something wasn’t right. Well, his wife has gone missing, again, in the middle of the night. The scene cuts to Leona asking Rolando (Joel Torre) to prepare the car for her, as she’s meeting with an important person beyond office hours. Leona’s repeated suspicious activities forced Carlos to turn his spy mode on, and in one instance, he caught her secretly meeting with Hector (Ping Medina).

He confronted her about it, but only to get his ego wounded even more by Leona’s reaction. She seemed annoyed with the sudden bouts of jealousy, which, surprisingly, made Carlos frustrated.

Carlos was so desperate that he teamed up with Ador (Epy Quizon) in his hunt for Leona’s lover. In one scene, they tortured their staff, forcing him to spill Leona’s secret but to no avail. He then chopped off another suspected guy’s finger, put it in a box, and gave it to Leona as a warning.

When he couldn’t seem to take down his rival, Carlos reminded his wife who he is and what hell awaits those who betray him, leading to that controversial marital rape scene. “Mananakit ako ng tao at papatay ako dahil mahal kita,” he said, though we all know this only comes from fear of his sense of superiority crushing down.

The funny thing is that he tried to confirm his hunches through Olga (Andrea del Rosario), who never runs out of sharp excuses to cover for Leona. She told him that they often hang out at the spa salon or karaoke bar. It sounded stupid to him – why would Leona go to a karaoke bar when he hasn’t even heard her sing before? It just doesn’t add up, he thought, clueless that the person he’s been playing cat and mouse with is already in front of him.

In another conversation, Olga boldly concluded that his paranoia comes from a place of guilt. And in an attempt to distract him, she brought up problems that must be of bigger concern, like Aidan (Zanjoe Marudo) and Mila (Janine Gutierrez)’s relationship and all his business rivals waiting for the perfect time to strike. However, Carlo’s only response was, “Nararamdaman ko na may tinatago sa akin si Leona. Kaya, Olga, favor naman, ‘pag may nalaman kang sikreto niya, sabihin mo naman sa akin.” All along, Carlos thought he can’t be outsmarted.

His reaction when he found out about Leona and Olga’s relationship spoke of the highest level of resentment. He laughed it off to save himself from humiliation. But, he can't deny that it was a major offense to his bloated ego.
