Jane de Leon rocked our worlds the moment she appeared in her red costume, emulating the commanding beauty and strength of the iconic Pinoy superhero Darna. We can all agree that Darna exists within Jane. In the last seven months, we witnessed Darna in the actress’ eyes, stance, charm, and martial arts bravado.

She is indeed perfect for the role. With that, here is a Friday 5 video of her best "Darna" moments.

We begin with her trending fight scene with Hergis/Klaudio (Joko Diaz) where she first delivered the iconic line “Ding, ang bato!” in a spectacular fashion and transformed mid-air.

Jane’s agility is one of her strengths as shown in the intense warehouse action where she shielded Brian (Joshua Garcia)’s team from a grenade blast through her solid stance, then, crushed the criminal’s gun into a scrap metal. And her smirk after that stunt spelled badass.

This modern version of Darna highlights her steel-hard skin where bullets simply bounce off, creating more cinematic visuals. The bullets ricocheted when she saved a young girl trapped in a dangerous shootout between the cops and a syndicate group. The largest guy hit her with steel but her skin was proven to be indestructible. And though the goons attacked as a group, Darna will never back down from multiple enemies.

Sometimes it just takes a worthy opponent to unleash the superhero’s physical prowess. We’re talking about the time when Darna and Luna (Kira Balinger) battled each other. This is probably one of the most threatening fights Darna had because of Luna’s wide collection of skills and powers including invisibility. But our superhero still proved to be a greater and smarter combatant. And the way Jane uttered the line “Ako ang protektor ng bato” sounded so powerful and intimidating.

Also making it to this list is the scene that showcased the ‘duality’ of Jane – the Darna versus Darna showdown. The shapeshifter Borgo (Richard Quan) copied Darna’s identity, resulting in a fight that highlighted the real Darna’s phenomenal strength and tremendous agility.

In 2019, when Jane bagged the much-coveted role after an arduous screening process, she vowed to give it her best. And like a true Darna, she walked the talk, proved her worth as the new-gen superhero.
