It’s no secret that fans are shipping Narda and Regina, Jane de Leon and Janella Salvador's respective characters in Mars Ravelo’s Darna, most likely because of their endearing off-cam friendship, not to mention their undeniable chemistry. With that, Kapamilya Toplist collates the scenes that had viewers gushing over the possibility of a DarLentina endgame in Mars Ravelo’s Darna.
Just on their first encounter as teens, wherein Narda saved Regina from jumping off a cliff, they already had an instant connection as they find each other at their darkest moment. Regina said she doesn’t intend to die, rather just thinking through the overwhelming events in her life. Narda felt the same, grieving her mother’s death and reluctant to commit to heroic responsibilities as Darna’s successor. That’s why they made a pact to pull each other out of the gloom, oblivious to a deeper destiny that binds them.
They grew up having the same inspiration, Narda’s mother, Leonor (Iza Calzado). Regina strives to maintain justice and order in Nueva Esperanza through her work as a lawyer and founder of Vanguardia Rescue, thanks to Leonor’s legacy. However, her father, Rex (Richard Quan), makes her feel like she’s never good enough.
It’s worth noting how the headstrong lawyer can cry and completely break down her walls in front of Narda, and the latter treats her likewise. Regina found a breathing space in Narda, who absorbs all her pain and sadness and does not complain. In a scene, she ran to her for a much-needed hug.
She turned vulnerable, confiding about her inner battles. And for the first time, too, she felt heard and appreciated, especially when Narda expressed how proud she is of Regina’s work as a lawyer and founder of Vanguardia Rescue. The world may be harsh but she feels better knowing that Narda believes in her.
At times, how we fix misunderstandings proves the level of relationship we share with the person. That’s why Narda and Regina were glad to have survived their first major fight, which was caused by the latter's failure to control her anger.
Not even a boy can come between them. Although Brian (Joshua Garcia) has the potential to break the two apart, he surprisingly united them when he was rushed to the hospital after an encounter with the Extras. Narda and Regina put their feelings on hold to be there for their common friend.
It’s heartwarming how they support each other in times of need, such as when Regina had a depressive breakdown due to hearing evil voices in her head, then found her solace in Narda.
In the succeeding scene, Regina went to Narda’s house and met her family, Lola Berta (Rio Locsin) and Ding (Zaijian Jaranilla). She enjoyed their company. Knowing she can trust Narda, she revealed her nightmares wherein she saw herself as Babaeng Ahas. The fear in Regina’s eyes died down and she felt like a huge weight has been lifted off her chest, thanks to Narda’s kind words, which seems to be her dominant love language apart from acts of service.
Narda always tells Regina that she’s like family to her. And knowing she doesn’t give empty promises, DarLentina fans got excited when she invited Regina for a sleepover. The scene where Regina called Narda “the sister I never had” was also so mellow our hearts fluttered.
Sharing the same motivation to uplift other people, they can do so much as a team. At some point, they looked at Valentina with the same amount of disdain and promised to work together in saving the Extras. That was when Regina wasn’t yet aware of her ophidian alter-ego.
Friendship is a place of sacrifice. By giving up her feelings for Brian, Narda let Regina know she’s important, too. Sometimes she’d even trash-talk Darna, her alter-ego, just to make Regina feel better and stop her jealousy. There were scenes of Narda saying Regina is more beautiful than Darna and joking about the latter repeating costumes. She would do anything to make Regina smile even at the expense of her self-worth.
Fans can’t help but fall in love with their sweet interactions – holding each other’s hands and staring affectionately at each other as they give uplifting words. One time, Regina thanked Narda for her hard work and told her to believe that everything will fall into place. And together, they stand up for each other and what is good, at least for now.
