The Extras are notorious for wreaking havoc and spreading terror across Nueva Esperanza, giving Darna/ Narda (Jane de Leon) a good challenge. They’re armed with savage powers and others even come in terrifying looks that gives us chills. As the bad guys continue to multiply, let’s have a recap of the Extras that Darna has encountered in the Mars Ravelo’s Darna TV series, so far.

Valentina (Janella Salvador)

Darna’s archnemesis known as the Serpent Queen has the abilities to communicate with all sorts of serpents like her servants. She has snake tendrils on her head and more ophidian tentacles that smother her victims to death. Valentina is given an interesting subplot in this version of Mars Ravelo’s Darna, as her human alter-ego, Regina, is depicted as a noble woman. However, giving in to her demonic instinct, Regina might completely succumb to Valentina soon, making her all the more dangerous.

General Borgo (Richard Quan)

He is the Martean ready to destroy human life and reshape it for himself to transform human beings into his own soldiers. Borgo was introduced in the story in his sentient form, bent on taking the white stone from its Protector and controlling the spread of Extras through the help of his devoted lieutenant Xandra/Ishna. He shocked viewers by shape shifting into Rex Vanguardia, Regina (Janella Salvador)’s father, stealing the former’s life and mind to watch over Regina, his secret weapon. He poses as other identities as well, such as the powerful old lady Madam Victoria.

Ishna/Xandra (Kim Rodriguez)

General Borgo’s aide, Xandra has impressive combat and shapeshifting abilities, as well as extraordinary strength. Extremely devoted to Borgo, she does all the work for him such as manipulating and recruiting Extras and patrolling Nueva Esperanza in an attempt to capture the protector of the white stone.

Hergis/Master Klaudio (Joko Diaz)

As a former ally of General Borgo, Hergis was the Martean shapeshifter who killed Leonor, the First Darna (Iza Calzado). He posed as Master Klaudio and tried to battle the new Protector but eventually formed an alliance with her, driven by his personal vendetta against Borgo, who killed his child. It appears that Master Klaudio has the ability to regenerate his cells at will, enabling him to recover significantly fast from injuries. He also possesses super strength and combat skills.

Strength Man (Jerald Napoles)

Like most villains, Strength Man was initially an ordinary person with a good heart. We first saw him as Fredo, a doting father-miner. When Mayor Zaldy (Simon Ibarra) gave the go signal to blast the quarry site where the Martean sentient was buried, manipulated by Borgo’s sidekick in disguise, fragments of chrysalis in the cyborg’s DNA spread and turned ordinary people into Extras. Trapped in the quarry, Fredo was struck by the airborne crystal shards that gave him superhuman strength used to destroy anything at will.

Lindol Man (Dominic Ochoa)

The powerful officials conspired to silence Engineer Javier Toledo before he gets to expose the corruption behind the use of substandard materials for the construction of a government facility. Buried alive, Javier turned into an Extra with the ability to generate earthquakes at will. In a fight leading to his death, he used telekinesis to lift big stones and used them to attack the goons chasing his pregnant wife.

Killer Ghost (Christian Bables)

Killer Ghost wore a black mask and carried a syringe when he first attacked in a familiar territory, the hospital. He is a former doctor seeking retribution after his father, who was also a physician, was defamed after failure to revive a patient. Killer Ghost used his background as a doctor in killing victims with a poisonous drug. He harnessed the power of invisibility and passing through walls.

Clone Man (Neil Coleta)

His background as a mobster made him more susceptible to Xandra/Ishna’s manipulation to wreak havoc across Nueva Esperanza. It’s interesting to note that Clone Man was attuned to his human side, but only uses his powers to replicate himself in order to fight and escape trouble. He even chose to keep his moral compass by yielding to Darna, eager to correct his mistakes and leave the rogue life behind, enlightened by his best friend Gardo (Marvin Yap). However, he was killed by Valentina.

Silent Shocker (Boom Labrusca)

He wouldn’t be called Silent Shocker for nothing. This Extra lurks around Nueva Esperanza to attack like a thief in the night, generating electrical charges using electrokinesis. He is an advocate for the Serpent Queen’s killing spree, therefore sabotaging Darna’s reputation through orchestrated accidents. He can also deflect attacks such as bullets using an energy shield created from electricity.

Human Urchin (Loren Burgos)

Human Urchin is the first female Extra we met in the teleserye apart from Valentina and Xandra/Ishna. She was a professor stabbed to death by two thugs and whose body was penetrated by the green crystal fragments, transforming her into an Extra with killer spikes that resemble the components of human bone.

Inno/Dragon Mouth (Karl Gabriel)

One of the newly-minted Extras, Dragon Mouth is one-third of the Ex-Triad gang. He spews acid fluid that melts anything it lands into.

Klara/The Seductress (Jef Gaitan)

Don’t be fooled by the luring appeal of this red-haired Extra. As her name suggests, this ExTriad member has the power of hypnotism. She is perfectly capable of manipulating her victims’ perceptions and anyone under the thrall of her powers will not be able to resist her commands.

Miguel/Boy ChopChop (Henz Villaraiz)

The youngest Extra, he wasn’t purely evil, but might just be lacking guidance. He is the missing grandson of Lola Trining, who Narda rescued as an EMT officer. Narda is convinced that unlike the other two ExTriad members, this reluctant kid still has the chance to be saved, that is if he won’t learn to enjoy his ability to detach his hands from his body.

Dark Brian (Joshua Garcia)

Police officer Brian Robles’ evil duplicate happened when shards of the green chrysalis lands onto the mirror that Brian was looking at, breathing life to his reflection. The reflection personified, the Extra stealing Brian’s identity, had the real Brian locked up in a still unidentified cell as he continues to use Brian’s body to make all kinds of mischief, defaming the cop’s reputation.

Don’t miss an episode of Mars Ravelo’s Darna, weeknights, on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, and A2Z.
