The flamboyant Dinagyang Festival got its name from the Ilonggo term, dinagyang, which means kasiyahan or revelry. As the celebration returned to the streets of Iloilo City over the weekend, after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the stars of Mars Ravelo’s Darna indeed partied with Kapamilya fans.

Ilonggos flocked to a mall in Iloilo City to bond with the “Darna” stars and watch them perform. Jane de Leon is truly a woman of power as she set the stage on fire with her sultry dance number, then serenaded the crowd and took selfies with them. She was swarmed by the audience but Jane gamely rubbed elbows with them.

Young JV made the sea of Ilonggos groove to his song performances. LA Santos’ enthusiasm and musical talent truly keep the fun alive. The hunky appeal of Mac Manicad sent ladies into a frenzy. And as for the youngsters, their Dinagyang experience was made extra euphoric by Mutya Orquia, who also moved through the crowd during her performance.

Apart from the energizing performances, the stars treated the audience to exciting games. One segment had fans come up on stage to deliver their best Darna shout. They also had the chance to take on TikTok trends with their idols, as well as take selfies and bond with them. Little girls came in their adorable Darna costumes.

The “Darna” family is so generous with photo ops, we can tell. In the footage, you can see them flashing their sweetest smiles and with their hands outstretched touching people near the stage.
