We may have lost our daily doses of inspiring anecdotes from their special guests and of their amusing banters after Magandang Buhay went off the air along with other Kapamilya programs for weeks now. However, there’s indeed no stopping Momshies Jolina Magdangal-Escueta, Karla Estrada, and Melai Cantiveros-Francisco from delivering inspiration and good vibes because they are now back via “Confessions with the Momshies”!
Streamed on ABS-CBN’s newest digital hub Online Kapamilya Shows (OKS), “Confessions with the Momshies” is an online talk show that aims to reach out to our beloved Kapamilya netizens and viewers by letting them vent out their woes and problems and offering advice with the help of an expert. It is online every Friday at 11am on oks.abs-cbn.com.
And for the pilot episode, they started it off by enthusiastically greeting the audiences and imparting their respective confessions. Then they introduced psychologist Dr. Tofi De Jesus, who already graced several Magandang Buhay episodes and would help them address the issue that their interviewee Momshie Rose Ann Alejandro would consult to them.
With her husband working as a health worker, Momshie Rose couldn’t help but get extremely anxious as he continuously reports for work despite the threats of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19). She tried to request him not to attend on his job for the meantime, but her husband refused as he thinks of their patients who highly need them at present.
This might have made her feel bad about herself, but Sir Tofi said that what she feels is “considered as really normal or typical” because of the situation we have now.
"Ang takot, nabubuo 'yan sa isang tao kapag, kunwari, nakita niya na nawawala sa kanya ‘yung full control ng isang sitwasyon,” he conveyed, then added, “Kapag tayo ay natakot, at napangunahan o na-overtaken na ng takot ang buhay, we tend to get a little bit impulsive so nagiging biglaan 'yong ating mga desisyon.”
Aside from Momshie Rose Anne, Momshie Melai, Momshie Karla, and Momshie Jolina also related the story sent in by another netizen named Grace, who sought help for the predicament she’s currently in with her husband.
Not only Sir Tofi was able to give his pieces of advice for both our Kapamilyas, but the momshie-hosts as well, just like what they usually do in Magandang Buhay.
The episode concluded with Sir Tofi giving us a few pointers on how to take good care of our overall well-being during this pandemic.
“Ngayon na nasa ECQ tayo or nasa quarantine, lagi nating tandaan- una manalig sa Diyos. Laging nand’yan ang Diyos. Huwag nating tanggihan na nandyan Siya lagi. Pangalawa, try to focus on those things that are within your control and try to let go of those things beyond your control. At pangatlo, be proactive. You need to focus on things that you can still do, try to fight this COVID-19 as best as you can. Maintain proper hygiene at higit sa lahat, huwag na huwag po nating idi-discriminate 'yong mga tao na gumagawa ng paraan para mas maging ligtas tayong lahat,” he implored.
However, let us remind you, our dear Kapamilyas, that the exchanges of experiences and opinions are for viewers’ information only. This show is not intended to be a depiction of a full and formal counselling or psychotherapy.
