Confessions With The Momshies discusses if married people can chat online with others

From helping one of our Kapamilyas in overcoming her anxiety inflicted by the COVID-19 pandemic in the pilot episode of their Online Kapamilya Shows (OKS) talk program, the three momshies of Magandang Buhay are once again to the rescue to help another kababayan in his marital woes in this week’s episode.

And in order to provide sounder and professional advice to their guest, hosts Karla Estrada, Jolina Magdangal-Escueta, and Melai Cantiveros-Francisco tapped psychologist and relational life coach Doc Ali Gui, to whom avid viewers of the morning show are already familiar with since she’s been a regular fixture in the program.

A 39-year-old Overseas Filipino Worker who has been working as an electrician in Qatar for two years now, “Michael” courageously divulged the complicated situation he’s currently in, which, according to him, is caused by the unstable communication between him and his wife who’s here in the Philippines with their three kids.

He imparted that his spouse feels jealous every time she catches him chatting with and reacting to the posts of other women, which compelled him to create a dummy account so that she wouldn’t be able to monitor his social media activities.

Because of his longing for companionship, he admitted joining Facebook groups wherein he’s able to meet random women to whom he would later on exchange messages with via chat, that sometimes got more intimate than they should be. He also thought of doing the same with his wife, but he’s afraid that their kids might be able to read it since they’re borrowing their mom’s phone too.

Although there were instances that he felt almost falling for the person on the other line, Michael firmly stated that calling it quits with his wife never crossed his mind since he loves her and their kids so much, and what he’s been doing is just for fun and entertainment.

Commenting on his case, Doc Ali said, “Tayong human being, mapaghanap tayo, ‘di ba? Maski malapit, maski malayo, ipagpapalit at ipagpapalit din natin kung may naramdaman tayong kulang sa loob. 'Yong pagiging selosa ng isang misis o ang isang pagiging seloso ng isang mister, ‘di dapat 'yan naging dahilan para for us to look for other person.”

Then she added, “In fact nga kung seloso o selosa ang asawa natin, dapat  pinag-uusapan, dapat pinagpupuno natin ng pagmamahal e. Remember, ang sandali lang at isang beses lang nating pagkakamali, sometimes ang kapalit niyan, buong buhay natin pagsisisihan.”

When asked what his reaction will be once his wife does the same, Michael told the momshie-hosts that he’s actually cool with it, as long as she won’t compromise her obligations to their family. Besides, he’s very much willing to give up his ‘extra-curricular’ activity for the sake of their kids and to confess about this to her once he sees that she’s ready for it.

The hosts also expressed what they felt and their respective opinions about what he did, with Momshie Melai lauding him for his bravery and telling him to be intimate with his wife, just like what he does to other women. Momshie Jolina reminded him to be more careful with actions since he’s already married and urged him to ‘fess up to his spouse, while Momshie Karla frankly told him that what he does is not fine because the moment he entertained the idea was already a form of adultery.

Doc Ali capped off the episode by reminding him, “Nasa sa'yo 'yon ang pagkontrol, nasa sa'yo ang pagpindot, nasa sa'yo 'yon ang puso mo. Pero dapat tandaan natin, and dapat bigyan nating atensyon, buhusan natin ng oras, paghirapan natin is ang ating mahal sa buhay. Make it a daily habit to really hook up [and] encourage one another. Do it every day.”
