One of Edward’s most despised deeds in the teleserye was cheating on his fiancé, Bettina (Kaila Estrada), with – of all the nerve – her own best friend, Liv (Rhen Escano). The betrayal was too much of a felony on its own, but to deny it in front of Bettina and the Tius when Caroline (Belle Mariano) revealed that she saw their tryst just proved how evil he could get for the sake of fortune and keeping his family’s name clean.

 The hallmark of arrogance lies in a man’s communication style, they say. And true enough, Edward spoke like he was the best guy on earth, as if Bettina couldn’t live without his presence. He even had the guts to call her attention-seeker and displayed his violent tendencies by hurting her intentionally when he squeezed her arm during an argument.

He was also hated for his humblebrags, and even outright boasting, especially when talking to Charleston (Albie Casino), whose shady acts he opened up to Bettina, telling the latter that Charleston might be the little snitch in the family. Although there might be some truth to his theories about him, the way Edward exuded overconfidence in his conversations with Charleston definitely irked viewers.

He secretly hated the Tiu family members, of course, including the stubborn Caroline. There was a scene where he visited Caroline at her workplace and spitted out threats, saying he’s dangerous when provoked and that he doesn’t want anybody meddling in his relationship with Bettina.
