In just almost three years since she first blessed our screens with her incredible acting range, Kaila Estrada continues to soar higher, project after project. Her latest assignment is playing Bettina Tiu, the evil stepsister to Belle Mariano’s Caroline Tiu in the teleserye “Can’t Buy Me Love,” proving yet again her versatility and terrific talent. She’s got that natural vibe that leans a little cold and intimidating, perfectly painting the character’s brokenness and grit at the same time.

The rising star delivered a performance so savage it pierced through the viewers, in that scene where Bettina confronted Caroline, during her engagement party with Edward (Enzo Pineda), thinking her sister is trying to steal her fiancé. She unveiled her evil side, deftly humiliating Caroline in front of the guests. Here, Bettina’s acting was polished by her crisp line delivery and the burning anger in her eyes.
Moving on to the next scene, Bettina unleashes her inner beast as she slaps Caroline repeatedly for refusing to retract her revelations about catching Edward and Bettina’s best friend, Liv (Rhen Escano), kissing during the party.
Moving from fierce to pathetic, Kaila captivates in scenes where Bettina pleads for Edward’s attention, revealing her character's softer and pitiful side. There was a scene where she stormed to his office, furious as he canceled their date through her secretary. But instead of answers, she only got a taste of her boyfriend’s aggressive tendencies.
Kaila also shines in her tender moments with seasoned actress Agot Isidro, who plays her mom, Cindy, in the story. One standout scene shows Bettina’s emotional depth as she soothes her mother's worry about Charleston (Albie Casino) leaving home again, and promises to make things right for their family.
Kaila is one to seize her screen time. Her acting prowess is divine even in brief sequences, such as when her mom broke the news about Edward’s death, with her frantic reaction fusing the scene with mesmerizing drama laced with mystery.
Similar emotions unfolded when she went to Edward’s wake and approached his mother, but only to be shooed away and invited over for interrogation at the police station.
Flashbacks revealed Bettina and Edward’s heated argument just moments before he was found dead. This was after she discovered his involvement in the GLC accounts hacking, prompting her to call off their wedding. Back to her conversation with Cindy, Bettina reached the pinnacle of her emotions, confessing her presence at the crime scene before Edward’s death. Kaila stunned with an A+ performance, leaving an immense impact that made viewers invested in the unsolved case. At the time, she made viewers see her possible involvement in Edward's murder, which she later denied.
