Through his ‘diskarte,’ Tanggol's life changed dramatically when he managed to acquire the highly valuable diamond known as the Star of Venus, which he secretly took from Don Facundo's (Jaime Fabregas) original group during their deal with a foreign syndicate.
Meet Tanggol version 2.0 – in his wealthy era. Renowned for his loyalty, Tanggol's squad follows the motto "one for all, all for one," that he hasn't forgotten to include his childhood friends in his newfound wealth.
Their first stop? A casino where they aimed to further grow their money, or should we say, their ‘stolen’ wealth. They wagered the Star of Venus and, thanks to Tanggol's skill and a touch of 'teamwork,' they scored a big win.
Here, the group encountered Tisay (Barbie Imperial), who had bet her sports car with them. They tried to sell it, only to discover it was a stolen vehicle. In an effort to multiply their money and keep their secret about the Star of Venus intact, they searched for a buyer for the glittering diamond. They enlisted the help of their acquaintance Peng (Long Mejia), who introduced them to his boss, Divina (Rosanna Roces).
As Tanggol said, it was like a blessing from heaven when Divina agreed to handle the diamond and promised to find a buyer. Divina transformed Tanggol’s life, helping him reinvent his image. Now, they have a grand house, luxury clothing and items, and enjoy fine dining. Tanggol exuded regal elegance as he sat in his office chair, with his friends cheering joyfully for him. “Hindi na tayo maghihirap ulit,” he assured his budies, who were all about flaunting their new rich businessman vibes.
Despite his newfound wealth, Tanggol remains humble and hasn’t forgotten his old friends, including the group led by Primo (Lito Lapid) and Amanda (Lorna Tolentino), who originally took him in. He brought them to his new house, which Divina provided.
In one scene, Divina observes that Tanggol has the traits of a leader willing to do anything for his team. She promised to help him elevate his life further and teach him about business and financial management. But first, she insisted should learn to have some fun as well. She took them on a tour of her private island in her chopper, treating them as special guests and giving Tanggol a chance to relax. Tanggol was amazed by Divina’s vast properties and, in turn, she promised to help him achieve similar success as long as he trusts her.
When it was time to begin business, Divina presented Tanggol with two gold bars and asked him to identify which one was real and which one was fake. Even Tanggol struggled to distinguish between them. It turned out that this task was Divina’s way of introducing Tanggol to his first business lesson: selling gold bars to unsuspecting locals without revealing that some of them are counterfeit.
Sudden wealth can be a double-edged sword. While it brings chances for a better lifestyle and the fulfillment of long-awaited dreams, it can also result in unforeseen challenges.
