Apart from her beauty and intelligence, Mokang (Lovi Poe), is admired for her toughness. But, sometimes, problems pile up and make her feel stuck, proving that even the strongest people wonder why life can’t let them win. As she goes through a challenging season, Kapamilya Toplist collated her heartbreaking scenes in FPJ’s Batang Quiapo.

The series of trials in Mokang's life took off from her dream debut party, for which her parents Marsing (Pen Medina) and Nita (Susan Africa) borrowed money from Roda (Joel Lamangan). The planning alone was anything but easy. She lost the money to a snatcher. On the day of the cotillion rehearsal, she was humiliated when Tanggol (Coco Martin)’s group poured urine on her classmates she invited to their place.

Nothing fell into place, enough to convince her to give up her dream party. But her parents insisted to go after what would make her happy. Besides, they’ve already been through so much for her debut. In such heartbreaking times, Mokang finds comfort in her family, and best friends Chicky (Toni Fowler) and Jill (Sofie Reyes).

The occasion looked perfect until a group of gangsters searched for Edwin (Ping Medina) at the party and encountered Tanggol’s squad, leading to a shootout. Mokang was devastated. Her fairy tale dreams came crashing. Not only was her effort put to waste, but it also scarred her reputation in school.

JP (Dino Imperial) and the other classmates she invited to the party complained about the incident. Moreover, JP took advantage of her desperation, resulting in an attempted sexual assault, which Tanggol managed to stop. To make it worse, her classmates fabricated their stories during their mediation with the school head. This entire hullabaloo resulted in the suspension of her scholarship.

Mokang had to face her parents’ disappointment after losing her scholarship and getting dragged into Tanggol’s mess. She worried a lot about her family. She was hurt for hurting their feelings. But, a woman’s true strength shines when she opts to stand up and make things right.

However, even before she was able to fix the chaos in her family, Marsing was sent to the hospital due to a hit-and-run incident. When she found out that her father tried to make money to pay their loan by pretending to get hit by a car, but unfortunately got slammed by another vehicle for real, Mokang blamed herself. She felt that she was too ambitious for planning a birthday celebration that pushed them into debt. Her conversation with Nita was filled with excruciating grief, especially for a daughter who only had big dreams for herself and her family. Nita told Mokang that whatever obstacle they’ve faced in their family, she and Marsing didn’t blame anything on her.

Meanwhile, at home, Edwin greeted her with rage, blaming their family’s misfortunes on her ambitious debut. She was verbally punished for making friends with Tanggol as well. Swallowing her pride, Mokang told her brother that she needs help rather than punishment. She walked out and went to church to pray to Jesus Nazareno.

These ‘tragedies’ might have caused Mokang too much pain, but we know she’ll manage to rise again and become even stronger.
