Shanaia Gomez might be a new face to a lot of primetime teleserye fans but she has surely been making a name for herself. Her current assignment is to add conflict and a sultry vibe in FPJ’s Batang Quiapo as a ‘kontrabida’ and, we can all agree, that she delivers well.

So, whether you’re an old or new fan, you will certainly enjoy this Kapamilya Toplist video that collates Shanaia’s best scenes from the trending teleserye.

As Selene, the star dancer of Scorpia Bar, she must be seductive and intimidating Just on her first appearance in the series, she revealed her catty attitude as she walked into the dressing room and caught Mokang (Lovi Poe) and Chicky (Toni Fowler) talking. She said that newcomers must know their place and learn to shut up, especially when other girls are taking a rest or prepping up in the dressing room. She uses her anger and power to get her way. She just didn’t know that Mokang and Chicky would be dangerous to fight with.

Too self-absorbed and focused on being number one among the girls in the club, Selene has humiliated the rookie dancer. She took over during rehearsals and said that she would demonstrate the proper moves on the dance floor, something sultry, unlike Mokang’s “parang palaka” style of dancing. She successfully tapped into Mokang’s insecurity, as the latter sulked in one corner while Chicky tried to cheer her up by reminiscing about their dance showdowns in the streets as little girls.

Part of the job at Scorpia Bar is to entertain high-paying regular customers. As the star dancer, Selene is often asked to join the table of wealthy men like Congressman Sevilla (Jong Cuenca), whose attention was caught by Mokang in no time. Selene was annoyed and insisted that she’d get Congressman Sevilla back once he sees her performance. However, Congressman Sevilla didn’t even dare look at her while she’s dancing because, apparently, he easily gets bored with the same old routine.

This triggered another round of dressing room confrontation as Selene lashed out at Mokang for stealing Congressman Sevilla. It could’ve resulted in a physical clash had Mama Janet (Janice Jurado) failed to meddle.

Mokang's undeniable charisma threatened Selene, so she humiliated her in front of one of the club’s patrons, who suggested the girls take a rivalry to a showdown. Naturally wicked, Selene secretly broke Mokang’s shoes, thinking it might lead to an embarrassing blunder and mess up her enemy’s performance. But, to everyone’s surprise, and much to Selene’s disgust, Mokang managed to get back up and dominate the showdown.

After the rookie crushed her on the dance floor, Selene erupted into a full-blown rage and vowed to kick Mokang out of the bar. However, her maldita manner was no match to Mokang and Chicky’s fighting spirit. The best friends confronted her upon learning that somebody sabotaged Mokang’s costume. The bully Selene and her minions got their lesson when Mokang and Chicky showed their ‘Batang Quiapo’ side by punching and pulling the hair of the other girls.

Despite what happened, Selene didn’t stop her contraptions. She rummaged through Mokang’s bag and found sleeping pills used to make the clients doze off, so Mokang could escape their sexual advances and steal money from them. Selene reported to Mama Janet (Janice Jurado), confident that it would cause Mokang’s termination.

However, the ending was far from what she expected. Mama Janet forgave Mokang and Chicky, who then confronted Selene’s group and threatened to beat them up again. Selene shut her big mouth and ended up raising the white flag.

Catch this exciting female clash in FPJ’s Batang Quiapo, weeknights, on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, TV5, and A2Z.
