We’ve all heard of "lukso ng dugo," that instinctive feeling you get when you meet a stranger who is actually related to you. But instead of that connection, Ramon (Christopher de Leon) felt more like "init ng dugo" when he met David (McCoy de Leon), the man pretending to be his son, Tanggol/Hesus Nazareno (Coco Martin). This is obviously because the fake Tanggol did not inherit Ramon’s skills and business acumen.
Take a look back at all the times Ramon lost his cool with David in this Kapamilya Toplist of scenes from "FPJ's Batang Quiapo."
In fact, Ramon almost killed David out of sheer anger when the latter showed up claiming to be Hesus Nazareno. Ramon didn't believe that this was his child with Marites (Cherry Pie Picache), insisting that he saw a man who looked exactly like his younger version, and he believed that guy was his son—not this weakling in front of him. However, David was fully committed to the charade with the help of Olga (Irma Adlawan), the mastermind of this deceitful scheme.
In the next clip, David was completely rattled when Ramon aimed a gun at him and directly asked if he was truly his child. This happened after David had been buttering Ramon up during their gun firing session.
Things also got tense for Ramon when David stepped between him and his enemy, Rigor (John Estrada), who is David's real father. Ramon wanted to end Rigor’s life, but during their confrontation, David intervened and insisted that if Ramon really wanted revenge, he should shoot him instead. Somehow, David's dramatic plea worked, knowing full well that Ramon wouldn’t pull the trigger. Instead, Ramon just ended up firing bullets into the air to vent his frustration toward his clueless "son."
Ramon erupted with a fierce scolding when David botched a business transaction, especially when David tried to excuse his failure by saying his father, Rigor, had a problem that prevented him from completing his task. Like a fire-breathing dragon, Ramon unleashed his fury, scorching David for his incompetence.
Ramon then delivered a chilling and menacing warning when he realized that David was meddling in his strategies and acting all-knowing, oblivious to the fact that David was merely trying to derail their plans, which might uncover the truth about who the real Tanggol is. Ramon’s fury simmered just beneath the surface, his voice low and dangerous, like a predator poised to strike.
Eventually, he couldn’t hold himself back any longer and brutally beat David when the latter took matters into his own hands to kill Bubbles (Ivana Alawi) in an attempt to please the Caballeros and put them in debt. Ramon's rage intensified when David, full of bravado, talked back to him. Ramon nearly strangled David in a fit of fury if Don Julio (Tommy Abuel) hadn’t intervened to stop him.
Ramon's eyes were like a snake ready to strike as he forced David to choose between their family and the family of his wife, Katherine (Ara Davao), the Caballeros. In the next scene, with just a few words and a piercing gaze, Ramon made David tremble in fear as he warned him about the consequences of maintaining ties with his other family, the Dimaguibas.
Then Ramon completely lost his composure when David once again failed a mission to track the Caballeros. He unleashed his fury by firing bullets into the air, the deafening sound echoing his frustration.
Who knows? Next time, those bullets might not just be fired into the void but could instead find their mark in David himself.
