10 times David caught our ‘inis’ in “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo”

While many characters in FPJ’s Batang Quiapo have won our hearts, some have caught our ‘inis,’ and one of them is David played by McCoy de Leon. He’s the younger brother who is so full of himself and can’t go a day without mocking Tanggol (Coco Martin). Check out his most hated scenes via this Kapamilya Toplist.

There’s nothing wrong about trying to discipline your sibling, but the way David does it screams arrogance. He would call out not only Tanggol but also their youngest brother Santino (Ronwaldo Martin) for rubbing elbows with the guys in their street, whom he looks down on. It’s no surprise the 'tambays' love Tanggol and hate David. There was a scene where a group of men called David ‘mayabang’ or braggart as he vowed to lock them up in jail once he becomes a cop. They said David is too self-righteous as compared to the friendlier Tanggol.

David loves to boast about himself, especially when backed up by his father Rigor (John Estrada). In a scene, before they left the house for work and school, Rigor examined David with praise and told him to keep up the good work. It was like music to David’s ear, giving him the chance to promote himself and his big dreams. He promised to do his best unlike Tanggol who can’t even think about his future. Rigor was satisfied with David’s answer while Marites (Cherry Pie Picache) remained silent as Tanggol was again put in a bad light.

Apart from bragging, David’s specialty is inciting their father to get mad at Tanggol. There was a scene where he informed Rigor about the street riot in which Tanggol was involved, thus Rigor hit Tanggol as soon as the latter arrived home that night. Marites and Tindeng (Charo Santos) halted the commotion while David watched in satisfaction. Santino confronted David, saying they should protect than betray one another. Instead of feeling sorry, David complained about his brothers’ behavior and vowed to give them their lesson once he earns his police badge. He lectured Tanggol for dragging their family into his mess despite Santino explaining that it wasn’t their brother’s fault.

The next morning, Tanggol woke up earlier to prepare breakfast. But, of course, nothing he does will ever be enough to please David, who took his gesture as just a form of bribe to make them forget the trouble he caused. He talked to Rigor about it, as if wanting to make sure that it didn’t erase Tanggol’s felony.

Don’t you think he could use a chill pill? David gets easily frustrated just by seeing Tanggol’s face. And when the latter adopted Tolits (Aaron Sunga) and Tala (Erin Espiritu), he showed no empathy to the kids and pointed out that his ‘Kuya’ has brought yet another trouble into their home.
