Bettina vs Tindeng Batang Quiapo

Female rivalry is so common that it can emerge between two older women–yes, even at a stage where one would typically expect camaraderie and mutual support.  In “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,” Bettina (Tessie Tomas)’s harsh treatment towards Tindeng (Charo Santos) unknowingly shows that that competition sometimes knows no age limit.

Bettina’s wrath toward Tindeng burned hotter with every passing day. What started as subtle jabs and cold stares has escalated into a full-blown grudge that she can’t seem to let go of. Whether it’s Tindeng’s mere presence or Facundo (Jaime Fabregas)’s soft spot for her, every little thing fuels Bettina’s jealousy and insecurity. It’s as if she has made it her mission to make Tindeng’s life as difficult as possible, unleashing her bitterness at every turn.

Here is a Kapamilya Toplist compilation of scenes that showcase just how ferociously Bettina treats Tindeng in the trending series “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo.”

It’s not uncommon to see scenes of two women fighting in the kitchen in teleseryes. But this time, Bettina and Tindeng weren’t having a cook-off. Instead, Bettina berated Tindeng for cooking tinolang manok, which she denounced as suitable only for the sick. In her tirade, she not only insulted the food but also labeled her then-newly hired helper as stupid for not consulting first when the house's official cook got sick.

She acts so religious, yet she speaks like the devil. Remember that time her jewelry went missing? She immediately accused Tindeng of stealing it, claiming Tindeng had a history of theft. She was referring to that petty incident when Tindeng tidied up Pablo (Elijah Canlas)'s scattered things, and Pablo’s earphones supposedly went missing. Bettina went ballistic, turning into a fire-breathing dragoness, and threw Tindeng out of the room. But later on, it was proven that she had simply misplaced her jewelry. Fortunately, her husband, Don Facundo, is nothing like her. He was the one who apologized to Tindeng, even though it was Bettina who acted like a beast.

And because Bettina already had a grudge against Tindeng, her anger also extended to Tindeng’s best friend, Noy (Lou Veloso), who was working as a gardener at the mansion. It came as no surprise when Bettina had a violent reaction after Noy accidentally trampled her prized plants while losing his balance from the scorching heat. Though Noy tried to explain, Bettina refused to listen and accused him of disrespect. She cared more about her plants than her worker’s well-being. The confrontation didn’t end there, as she also lashed out at Tindeng for defending Noy.

Bettina is truly heartless, like she’s the devil’s twin, when she scolded Tindeng upon finding out that her granddaughter, Katherine (Ara Davao), went to Quiapo with her. Even though Katherine insisted it was her idea, Bettina was still furious, almost cursing Tindeng in her rage.

Her tongue was razor-sharp when she berated Tindeng for leaving the mansion to visit her family in Quiapo, even though it was Facundo who approved her day off. Right then and there, she heartlessly kicked Tindeng out, treating her like a slave she could throw out of the house anytime. Fortunately, Facundo caught the commotion and had the final say that Tindeng would stay.

From that moment on, Bettina's dark heart grew even more consumed with bitterness, especially after noticing that her husband always sided with Tindeng. Her cruel nature erupted when she found out that Facundo had bought Tindeng a dress as a gift, pleased by how Tindeng had kept him company in Quiapo. Like a wicked queen, Bettina barked orders to her guards to drag Tindeng and her friend, Noy, to the horse stables.

The scene was chilling—Tindeng, wide-eyed and helpless, was forcefully pulled across the grand estate as Bettina watched, her eyes gleaming with hatred and satisfaction. Her cruelty knew no bounds as she had them locked away in the dingy, dusty stables, treating them worse than the animals that lived there. It was as if Bettina believed she held the power of a god, punishing anyone who dared to cross her, no matter how innocent they were.

But Tindeng’s patience wasn’t saint-like, either, and after enduring so much, she could no longer hold herself back from fighting back against Bettina.

Who will come out victorious in this rivalry?
