Tanggol (Coco Martin) and Santino (Ronwaldo Martin) grew up in the chaotic environment of a troubled family and the bustling streets of Quiapo. At times, they feel isolated and unloved, but deep down, they know they can always count on each other.
Their bond was forged in childhood and has grown stronger as they matured and learned to rely on one another. This contrasts sharply with their middle brother, David (McCoy de Leon), whose personality is worlds apart from theirs. David is known for his bad attitude and arrogance, making him a difficult person to be around.
Check out Tanggol and Santino’s strong brotherly bond in this Kapamilya Toplist compilation of scenes from "FPJ’s Batang Quiapo."
Remember when Santino got into a fight because he was cheated in street boxing? Not only did Tanggol come to his rescue, but so did Tanggol's entire crew. We know that anyone Tanggol cares about is also loved and protected by his friends, and they showed that to Santino.
Santino was mad when David got Tanggol in trouble by telling their father, Rigor (John Estrada), about the fight and painted Tanggol as bad when in reality, the latter only defended Santino.
Tanggol is the only one who supports Santino’s dream of becoming a boxer. This was clear in the scene where he saw Santino practicing on a punching bag outside their house. He promised that once he can afford it, he'll enroll Santino in a proper training camp.
When Tanggol was released on parole, his first day outside was eventful and tragic—Rigor beat him up and kicked him out of the house. To make matters worse, David destroyed his release papers. It was Santino who encouraged him to stay strong and overcome these new challenges.
Santino and Tanggol have always had each other’s backs, especially when Tanggol found out that their father had been supporting Lena (Mercedes Cabral), his mistress. They confronted Lena together, and when she falsely accused Tanggol of pushing her down the stairs, Santino boldly defended his brother’s innocence. Despite Santino’s statements, Rigor would choose to believe Lena’s lies.
You could also see their true love for each other when Tanggol visited the gym where Santino works and trains. He supports his brother's dreams and even encourages him to pursue Annika (Dexie Diaz). Tanggol watched Santino's fight against Tisoy (Zeus Collins), and when he saw Santino being unfairly treated and badly hurt by Tisoy, he couldn't hold back. He stepped into the ring to defend his brother and teach Tisoy a lesson.
Will Tanggol be able to protect Santino against Tisoy's brutal revenge? Don’t miss an episode of “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,” airing weeknights, on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, TV5, and A2Z.
