However, in real life, veteran actor Ronaldo Valdez actually has a consistent tight bond with his daughter Melissa Gibbs through the years.

Just like many of us, Ronaldo is also a self-confessed softie when it comes to his family. And that was attested when he immediately got emotional upon learning that Melissa was his surprise guest for that interview.
When asked by the momshie-hosts to describe her popshie, the actress-singer enthused, “Naku, napakabait. Sobrang fun, sobrang saya kasama, parang barkada nga, [gaya ng] sinasabi niya. And napaka-loving. Best father in the world.”
If there’s one thing that she admires about him, it’s definitely his being family-oriented – just like his character in the movie “Seven Sundays,” which he was promoting during that time. While they’re pretty close, Melissa disclosed that they actually not very expressive of how they feel about one another, as they love to spend their moments together with laughter and good vibes
She may be on the verge of tearing up, yet she’s still able to convey her poignant message for him. She stated, “Thank you sa lahat ng support, kasi ito kakampi ko e. Kami magkaugali, so talagang kakampi ko siya sa lahat. Kapag may problema ako, takbuhan ko ‘to e. Siya talaga ‘yong sumbungan ko kapag merong umaaway sa akin. Pero ngayon lang ako makakapag-‘thank you’ talaga kasi sobrang mahal ako nito e. At saka he makes sure na okay si Melis, ‘yong mga anak ko. ‘Yon ang priority niya talaga,”
Melissa further commented that she is her father’s “favorite” as he tends to give whatever she wanted. Thus, she’s been a certified Papa’s girl ever since she was little. Ronaldo somehow seconded it by recounting an instance when he bought a car and considered first if his daughter could drive it.
