Her FPJ’s Batang Quiapo character Mokang may have found herself in deep trouble as she has to set aside her feelings for her childhood friend Tanggol (Coco Martin) to marry the man who helped her and her family with their financial woes, but actress Lovi Poe, in real life, doesn’t have to go through this problem since she’s been tied to her beloved British beau Montgomery “Monty” Blencowe.
And photos of them together that she uploads on Instagram are proofs of how in love they are to one another!
According to an article published by Metro.Style in 2019, the Kapamilya actress was first spotted with him that year in Los Angeles, USA, “dining with friends in January, and then again in Las Vegas in February, a day before her birthday.” But reportedly, the very first time they have met was during her extended holiday vacation in the United States earlier that year.
She further stirred speculations about their blossoming romance upon posting for the first time a photo of only her and Monty on IG while attending the Royal Ascot – which is described as “an exclusive, and very posh, annual event held at the Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire, England that members of the British royal family frequent” – and teasingly called him her “date” in the caption.
Their presence together may have brought delight to Lovi’s loved ones and followers, but it’s impossible for her to share a lot of pictures of them together because aside from seemingly keeping their affair low-key, they’d been in a long-distance relationship, too. While she’s busy with her showbiz commitments here in the Philippines, her beau also works in the US as a movie and television producer.
Even though they’re not able to spend a lot of time together like other couples do, they never let distance and time affect their connection as they make sure to make up with the time they weren’t together. The pandemic may have brought another challenge in their relationship, but that didn’t stop them from showing their sweetness, love, and support to one another.
While LDR is frowned upon by others, she revealed in one of her media interviews that although their current set-up is tough, she’s still grateful that both of them are busy with their respective careers and goals in life and their not being together allows them to do more.
The only time when they get to usually see and bond with each other in the flesh is during annual holiday vacations! They may not be able to spend Valentine’s and her birthday together, but he was still able to give her a grand surprise through a video message he sent to Magandang Buhay in one of her guestings in 2022. She was indeed stoked to see him onscreen as he even managed to take a video of himself and speak to the camera despite being actually shy and not really fond of taking pictures nor videos of himself.
“You’ve been so amazing to me. I’ve never seen anyone or met anyone who wants to see me succeed. Alam mo talagang swerte ka sa buhay kapag may nakilala kang tao who will lift you up and want to see you shine. So, I’m really grateful to have you. Thank you, Bubba. And yes please, I want to see you soon,” she lovingly commented.
And just on August 9, Lovi delighted everyone on Instagram when she posted a reel showing off her engagement ring and the exact place where he popped the question. She captioned it, “A couple of years ago, there were two coffees, one sunrise, and a ring.”
She added, “We’ve shared and celebrated this moment quietly with our family and closest friends, so we’re now more than happy to share this sweet #lifeupdate with you.”
Rooting for your long and lasting love, Lovi and Monty!
