It was absolutely a thrilling and nakakagigil week for avid viewers of FPJ’s Batang Quiapo as the highly anticipated confrontation scene among Marites (Cherry Pie Picache), Rigor (John Estrada), and Lena (Mercedes Cabral) finally happened!

Last week’s (April 22 to Apriil 26) episodes commenced with Santino’s (Ronwaldo Martin) first-ever amateur fight, despite not being able to gain the permission of his parents, in which he won. Unbeknown to him and the coaches, his treacherous nemeses Lawrence (Paolo Gumabao) and Chito (Shernan Gaite) attempted to derail him by divulging significant information about him to the camp of his opponent in exchange of a whopping amount of money.

Just when Lawrence and Chito thought that they were able to hit two birds with one stone as they also bet all the cash they got to the opponent, they got a double whammy instead because of Santino’s come from behind victory after knocking out his opponent. They didn’t only lose the bet, but also failed again in their plan of kicking him out of the gym.

This got Lawrence and Chito in trouble as they failed to return the money given to them by the other camp, so they got mauled by them. On the other hand, Santino only received a meager amount from Coach Gary (Levi Ignacio) after his win.

Lucio (Ronnie Lazaro) and the Batang Tondo Gang solidified their alliance with the Red Phoenix Group as they vowed to help one another in getting back at their enemies. During their meeting, it was found out that both of them actually have the same targets – Amanda (Lorna Tolentino) and Tanggol (Coco Martin). But Angkong (Joonee Gamboa) wanted his business rival Mr. Salazar (Johnny Revilla) to be the one first in line.

Afraid that confronting Rigor about his illicit affair with Lena might cause a huge mayhem among their family, Marites finally mustered the courage to do so because of Olga, a.k.a. Beng (Irma Adlawan). She prodded Marites to confirm her hunch and even accompanied her in facing Rigor and Lena.

After days of finding Tanggol, Marcelo (Nonie Buencamino) and Dante (Dan Alvaro) finally spotted Tanggol in Quiapo, while he was walking down its busy streets with Bubbles (Ivana Alawi). They reminded him about his promise to pay him back in exchange of the legal assistance that their boss, Don Facundo (Jaime Fabregas) extended to him.

Tanggol once again declined to go with them, reiterating that he will just pay them in a different way, yet they only have to wait. Bubbles, who was then listening to their conversation, warned Marcelo and Dante about bringing Tanggol in trouble and being bad influences to him since he has already started getting back on track.

As former National Correctional Facility Chief Dolores Espinas (Jaclyn Jose) got suspended and relieved from her position because of the administrative charges filed against her, PMGEN Augustus V. Pacheco (Julio Diaz) commended Rigor for a job well done and promised him promotion, much to the elation of Rigor. A new chief jail officer was also designated in the person of Brigadier General Oscar Duran (Bart Guingona), who’s apparently tougher and stricter than Chief Espinas as he warned the inmates about punishing whoever will violate the rules or do foolish things.

Rigor’s celebratory mood wouldn’t last long as his reputation is about to get tainted due to his extramarital affair with Lena, which Marites finally found out when she and Beng went to Lena’s house and caught them in the act of having an intimate moment. Rigor went there after being invited by Lena for them to be able to celebrate his new career milestone and her pregnancy. Marites furiously assaulted them and created a scene in Lena’s neighborhood by dragging her out the streets in which their intense showdown happened.

Viewers surely found themselves exasperated with Rigor anew as instead of apologizing to Marites for the mistake he had committed, he told her that she shouldn’t have come there and made a scene as she only put their family’s reputation in shame. He even pointed out that it’s her and her beloved firstborn Tanggol and mother Tindeng (Charo Santos) who must be blamed since her shortcomings as a wife and the stress that Tanggol and Tindeng had brought to their family compelled him to find pleasure outside their home.

Heartbroken and furious, Marites decided to leave their house for the night, with Santino coming with her. Since they had nowhere to go to, Santino took his mom to the gym. Coach Gary was hesitant to take them in, worried that their gym might also get into trouble because of their family problem. But Lawrence was able to convince Coach Gary to allow them to at least sleep there for the night. He did it to further gain the favor of Santino and drown him with utang na loob, making it easier for him to take control of him.

Meanwhile, Rigor returned to Lena’s house upon receiving a text message from her. Lena expressed her wish to live with him at their house if he didn’t want her to go to the province where she will raise her singlehandedly. But Rigor didn’t want her to take their child away from him, so he agreed and gave in to her prodding.

Just when we thought that alliance of Pablo (Elijah Canlas) and David (McCoy de Leon), a.k.a. fake Hesus Nazareno, was already for real, the former told his right-hand Ruben (Yce Navarro) that it was only for show in order for his grandpa, Don Facundo (Jaime Fabregas) to stop badgering him about befriending “Hesus” since they’re already business partners after all.

His much-awaited crossing paths with the real Hesus Nazareno, a.k.a. Tanggol, finally happened as Pablo and his henchmen swung by the bar where he and Bubbles work. Aside from hitting on Bubbles to whom she instantly got smitten with, Pablo also dared the owner, Baste (Niño Muhlach) to a round of billiards with a corresponding bet. They started with P100,000, which eventually grew to P3.2 million as they kept on asking each other to banse, or bet again in hopes of winning back every time they lose. Desperate to win, Baste even asked Bubbles via his bar manager Obet (Neil Coleta) to use her charms to distract him.

As Obet questioned the credibility of Pablo since there’s no money in sight yet, a little chaos ensued as the latter assaulted the former and Baste. Frightened that Pablo would fulfill his warning to kill them, Baste tapped Tanggol to be the one to replace him in the next round, with P6.4 million at stake. Even though he claimed that he’s not good with billiards, Baste still insisted him to play just to please Pablo.

As we look forward on the continuation of Tanggol and Pablo’s battle over pool and finding out who between will be victorious in the end, let’s see what the netizens had to say about last week’s episode of FPJ’s Batang Quiapo through their tweets on X (formerly Twitter) that we collated below.
