Elijah Canlas in Kapamilya series

Elijah Canlas is one of the most bankable and sought-after actors of his generation. The level of talent and versatility that he exhibits in his every portrayal have been beyond impressive, so it’s not surprising that, at the early stage of his promising career, his acting chops were already recognized not just here in the Philippines, but also internationally.

At present, we get to witness his brilliance as he takes on the role of the arrogant heir Pablo Caballero in the well-loved series FPJ’s Batang Quiapo – much to the delight and excitement of his ardent supporters. Those who have been following his journey would know that prior to his current and previous notable stint in Senior High, Elijah already appeared in several ABS-CBN series both on television and online ever since he decided to dabble in mainstream media in 2019.

And as we anticipated how the story of his FPJ’s Batang Quiapo character will unfold in the next episodes, let’s look back on his exceptional performances as a Kapamilya in this feature.

It was in 2019 when Elijah began his journey in mainstream media after a few years of completely being on the indie side. His first appearance was in the iWantTFC original web series “Past, Present, Perfect?”, in which he played Marius, the gay best friend of Loisa Andalio’s character.

It was succeeded by another gay role in another iWantTFC original series entitled “Misis Piggy” (2022), in which he endeared us as Jeffrey, who is not only a good son to his mom (Sylvia Sanchez) and a brother to his sisters (Ria Atayde and Iana Bernardez), but also a loving partner to his boyfriend (Fino Herrera).

He may have had a short appearance in the 2023 action-drama series The Iron Heart as Conrad, but it was already enough to impress the viewers. In the same year, he went on to win our hearts in the much-talked-about series Senior High with his compelling portrayal of Archie, the high school bully that we eventually learned to love. This was also where his team-up with co-star Xyriel Manabat was born, with their shippers wishing to see them again in another project together.

Will his latest character Pablo Caballero be a villain through and through, or there’s a facet of him that we are yet to see? Well, let’s find out in the upcoming episodes of FPJ’s Batang Quiapo, weeknights at 8 PM, on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, TV5 and A2Z.
