The narrative continues to expand in FPJ’s Batang Quiapo as Tanggol (Coco Martin) traverses an exhilarating mission and journey with Bubbles (Ivana Alawi), taking viewers to a new territory that offered a refreshingly serene vibe, a contrast to the colorful chaos of Quiapo. And with the introduction of a new location comes a slew of fresh characters adding novelty to the story.

A breath of fresh air
Just a recap, Tanggol and Bubbles set their foot in a new locale after the later proposed that they hide somewhere outside Manila to distract the authorities who would sure hunt them down after they stirred a shootout in Quiapo. They drove to a secluded resort in the province where they met its friendly owners and caretakers and introduced themselves as a couple.
The suburbs emerged as a delightful setting that added charm to the scenes, adding a touch of warmth and refreshing atmosphere to the series’ storytelling. It also provided a picturesque backdrop for Tanggol and Bubbles’ romance to bloom.
One of the defining features of the show’s recent suburban location is the sense of community that permeates every scene. The resort owners and caretakers’ dynamic added sparkle to the story arc.
Viewers were amused when comedian Dinky Doo and former sexy actress Ynez Veneracion made their television comeback via the series as Boston and Marita, respectively. They played the resort owners, who were actually contemplating of selling their property due to bankruptcy brought about by the pandemic but got their hopes up when Tanggol and Bubbles chose to stay in their place.
They were also joined by classic names in comedy – Jaime Cuales aka Pango, Roberto Antonino aka Bantay, and Eddie Vale aka Nognog.
Their screen time might be short but they had a wonderful experience working with Coco and the whole team of FPJ’s Batang Quiapo. In an Instagram post, Ynez expressed her appreciation for the Primetime King.
“Throughout our collaboration, I witnessed your unwavering dedication and passion for your craft. Your professionalism and gentlemanly demeanor made the experience even more enjoyable. I genuinely appreciate the opportunity to work alongside someone as talented and kind-hearted as you,” reads a part of her message.
Ynez also enjoyed her girly ‘chikahan’ moments with Ivana. The two have forged solid friendship, as Ivana even told Ynez in the comment section, “Miss you!”
While the magic of teleseryes unfolds onscreen, the real enchantment happens off-cam, with the camaraderie and shared experiences that accompany each scene.
