Every relationship is a candidate for trials that’s why Tisay (Heaven Peralejo) and Ely (Tony Labrusca) are not exempted from outside factors that put their love to the test. But no matter what or who tries to break them apart, their love and sunny approach towards life help them survive. In this Kapamilya Toplist, we rounded up the scenes from Bagong Umaga showing the ‘kilig’ LQs (lovers’ quarrels) Tisay and Ely had to experience and manage to solve each time.
Let’s begin the ‘kilig’ fest with that memorable confession leading up to the couple’s first kiss. If we try to dissect her meaningful words, we could note the conflict aroused by Ely’s rough relationship with his father. But despite his internal battles, Ely is the calm in Tisay’s raging emotions. He is her comfort and home.
Tisay has an inner spunk. She’s someone not easily scared and defeated to the point of putting herself in grave danger. Her feistiness often stirs conflict and brings Ely ‘sakit ng ulo.’ But, despite the occasional LQ due to their colorful personalities, all it takes is a little ‘lambing’ to sort the problems. Tisay sure knows how to tickle her boyfriend’s soft spot, shown in that scene wherein she asked permission to help Dodong (Yves Flores) solve Cai (Barbie Imperial)’s scandal.
Remember when Ely arrived at Bagong Siglo five minutes late? That scene was filled with the bliss of newfound love. All the hate won’t cut it as long as Ely and Tisay are together. In times of trouble and when things are too much to bear, especially during the court battle against Diana (Glydel Mercado), Tisay found strength in Ely. He reminded the seemingly forgetful Tisay that she is surrounded by so much love. Then, their hearts melted in a gentle, loving forehead kiss.
However, as the relationship elevates, problems get worse as well. The shooting incident that paralyzed Monica (Nikki Valdez) resulted in a chain reaction of conflict and explosive revelations. First, the couple had a heated argument over morals and love when Tisay searched the black market to look for a possible kidney donor for her ‘Nanay.’
It was followed by a blazing fight over Tisay withdrawing the lawsuit against Cai, the culprit behind her fake indecent photos. Ely was mad that her girlfriend was humiliated and he got angrier when Tisay simply let Cai off the hook for the sake of Jose (Keempee de Leon) and Monica.
Jumping from one conflict to another, the couple had a debate over Dodong taking financial support from Matthew (Richard Quan). The furious Ely called it selling of one’s pride, hurting Tisay’s feelings and forcing her to slap him.
It did not end there. Just as when Tisay is slowly learning to let Doc Ian (Cris Villanueva) in her life, Ely discovered clues indicating that he was his biological mother’s murderer. Tisay tried to spare Ely from the negative consequences of his anger.
However, even before they sort through this problem, another one came up. Due to Diana’s tactics orchestrated through Cai’s help, Doc Ian accidentally killed Ely’s brother in an accident. Tisay would insist that her father is innocent but Ely is too hurt to believe.
The series of obstacles made Ely ask for a breathing space, thus Tisay felt she was alone in her next set of battles. But even in the most heartbreaking arguments, Ely and Tisay serve us a warm splash of feels. We gushed over their reunion. Tisay inculpated Ely for leaving her drowning in problems. Ely embraced Tisay and assured her that he wasn’t gone. He will never be.
