Blossoming love feels more heavenly in Bagong Umaga as Tisay (Heaven Peralejo) and Ely (Tony Labrusca) serve viewers with sweet and subtle ‘kilig’ encounters. Albeit experimental, Heaven and Tony’s tandem is undeniably a strong contender in the loveteam arena, thanks to their fresh chemistry and natural quirkiness.
If you are now a converted Tony-Heaven lover or simply looking for a new pair to stan, check out this Kapamilya Toplist rounding up their captivating connection in Bagong Umaga.
We gushed over Tisay and Ely’s first meeting when she returned his wallet and expected a reward for her ‘heroic’ act, clueless that her troublemaker friend Angge (Michelle Vito) stole his baby picture. That sparks-fly moment would set the tone of their love-hate relationship.
The missing photo led him to the happy Magbanua abode and he instantly hit it off with her family. Who says strangers can’t share a hearty laugh and meal? Ely bantering with the Magbanuas and teasing Tisay for her “Miss Ubas” costume in primary school brought everyone wide smiles. His corny jokes seem the perfect match to her inner spunk.
As though he’s always meant to be in her life, Ely is Tisay’s constant reminder to keep things easy and stop dwelling on the past. He is the calm in her raging emotions, the one who would easily dismiss issues to avoid further arguments. And that’s not because he tries to avoid confrontations but because he can easily forgive her little mistakes, shown in the scene where she apologized for tagging him a spy. She surprised him with a homemade treat as a peace offering.
Still in a series of kismet-ushered circumstances, Ely and his family moved in to the small community where Tisay lives, making them neighbors. Tisay and her mother Monica (Nikki Valdez) listened to Irene (Bernadette Allyson)’s stories about her son. Ely came out from behind a curtain that added a sigh-inducing cinematic effect, leaving Tisay stunned at his manly gorgeousness.
Add to the list that sweet and funny moment when he checked her twisted ankle. She was hesitant at first while her brother Dodong (Yves Flores) was on the alert, waiting for the pennies to slide out of Tisay’s shoe. Ely would, later on, poke fun at the old-fashioned Tisay, jokingly asking her if he can also deposit money under her socks.
Aside from the happy vibes, Tisay and Ely can also offer a warm splash of feels. Don’t you love it when the guy embraces the girl to hush her strong emotions? Soothing her anger and fear after her confrontation with Ian (Cris Villanueva), Ely told Tisay to use her emotions as motivation to achieve challenging goals rather than try to fight them. And he offered his shoulders as her punching bag.
Watch out for more Tisay-Ely kilig moments in the episodes to come! Bagong Umaga airs every Monday to Friday after It’s Showtime on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, and A2Z Channel 11.
