Ali Abinal shares preparations for death scene, what he will miss about Bagong Umaga

Prior to the death of his character in the afternoon barkadaserye Bagong Umaga, Pinoy Big Brother Otso alumnus-turned-actor Ali Abinal gave us a glimpse of his last taping day as he nervously took on the challenge of doing his last scene.

He played the role of Gab Florentino, the brother of Tony Labrusca’s character Ely. And in this episode of Bagong Umaga Barkada Access, he showed us his preparation, sharing how he felt excited and nervous at the same time before the shoot since it was his first time to do that kind of scene.

Nevertheless, Ali was able to successfully perform his death scene, which was actually a hit-and-run incident that transpired after he saved his Kuya Ely who was supposed to be the real victim. Ely’s heart indeed got shattered into pieces upon witnessing the tragic demise of his brother. Later on, he would do his best to seek justice for Gabriel, and would soon find out through the CCTV footage that it was Ian’s (Cris Villanueva) car that hit his younger brother.

Ali was certainly in character during his last scene and pulled it off very well. He went on to disclose that he even practiced a number of times how to look dead while he was still in the hotel where they were staying. Afterwards, his co-actors and the directors, producers, and staff of Bagong Umaga congratulated and thanked him for a job well done as they hugged and greeted him and took a group photo with him.

Initially shy to give his parting speech, he eventually gave in to the request of one of his co-actors. He imparted that Bagong Umaga was his second project after PBB and he was really happy to be able to work and be surrounded with such great and kind-hearted actors, directors, producers. He’s also very much grateful for the whole staff who really made him feel that he is welcome to the show and to the whole team, as well as to his co-actors who relentlessly guided and supported him.

The newbie actor also admitted not feeling the same way while was working on his first project because the experience was still new to him and he found it difficult to reach out to people. But in Bagong Umaga, he was able to really enjoy and learn a lot so much from working with everyone – from his co-actors to the producers and directors, and to the whole staff in general. Thus, he’s hoping to be able to work with them again someday.

Furthermore, Ali said that he will really miss the whole team, including the very friendly cast and the thoughtful utility team who would always check up on him, which is one of the reasons why he was more eager to work every day. He also didn’t forget to express his gratitude to all the supporters of show.

“Ang masasabi ko po sa mga audience, sana po keep supporting po ‘yong BU and maraming salamat po sa inyo na sinusuportahan n’yo ‘yong BU. Sana po mag-ingat kayo palagi and stay safe. Laging magma-mask,” he said.

You’re surely going to be missed, Ali!
