Our newest, youth-oriented barkada series Bagong Umaga has been successful ever since its pilot episode last October 26 and Kapamilya viewers have been totally hooked to each episode with its quality narrative about friendship, love, and family.

In this gallery, we see how the Bagong Umaga cast members formed a very close and strong bond during the lock-in tapings for the show. Seeing them support each other amid this demanding and grueling set-up is delightful and comforting, since they could not return home to be with their families during the stretch of the project.

The lead stars admit that it’s really been hard to work in this situation. Although they are very grateful to have been given work despite all the challenges they have been facing. One of the cast members, Tony Labrusca said in an interview with DJ Jhai Ho that he appreciates how all the people in the set are very respectful with each other and very understanding of the situation - which makes work lighter to be done. There are bonding moments including their workouts where Tony, Barbie Imperial, Heaven Peralejo, Yves Flores, and Kiko Estrada do their exercise routines together.

“Actually, ‘yon din po ‘yung fear ko, akala ko magsisilabasan na ‘yung mga ugali nung mga kasama ko dito pagdating ng third week. Pero ito, last few taping days na kami for the first lock in and I’m really happy to say na mabait po lahat ng mga kasama ko dito. Lahat ng staff really understood how hard lock in is so I think tulungan na lang po kaming lahat dito kasi it’s not easy,” Tony said in the virtual conference of Bagong Umaga.

Barbie also shared recently that she has been experiencing emotional breakdowns because of her longingness for her family. But what helps her survive every day during tapings is the warm presence of her co-actors and the whole production. “Pero ang maganda naman po dito sa amin sa Bagong Umaga, kapag may gusto ka pong makausap, like ako po, sobrang nagbi-breakdown na po ako dahil sobrang miss na miss ko na si kuya, miss na miss ko na ‘yung bahay namin, at napapagod din po ako, pero dito kasi para kaming pamilya talaga,” she said in an interview with PUSH, sharing how understanding the production staff including the directors have been.

“Katulad ko po, kapag hindi ko na talaga kaya, lumalapit po ako sa prod, kay Direk Carlo (Po-Artillaga). Sinasabi ko sa kanya, ‘Direk, ito ‘yung nararamdaman ko. Napapagod ako.’ Ganyan, ganyan. And importante po na nalalabas mo kung ano ‘yung nararamdaman mo para hindi naiipon,” she added.
