As he currently inspires us through his newest on-screen character Raphael “Ely” Florentino in the Kapamilya series Bagong Umaga, versatile young actor Tony Labrusca is also inspiring a lot of us in real life when it comes to taking good care of our bodies and being physically fit.
Ever since he first appeared on television via his stint in a popular fast-food chain commercial and in the 2016 reality talent program Pinoy Boyband Superstar, he has undeniably captured ladies out there with his captivating handsomeness and unmistakable singing talent. But as he went on to pursue his showbiz career, we realized that he also possesses a well-chiseled physique that’s definitely to swoon for.
And we all know that achieving that body requires a lot of time, hardwork, and discipline, which he willingly tackled in his interview with StarStudio.ph last year. While we probably all assumed that he’s the gym buff kind, Tony revealed that he is actually as he found it really boring.
“I used to be a gymnast, but apart from that, I’m not actually the type to work out. I find it really boring, that’s why I do this kind of sport na lang,” he imparted, referring to “obstacle course racing” – a sport in which competitors have to go through a series of tough obstacles.
He learned about it during his La Luna Sangre days wherein they had to go through strenuous obstacle course trainings for their action and fight scenes. He got fascinated with it and eventually decided to start his personal training after the series. Tony went on to join his first-ever obstacle course racing last year in Cebu and triumphantly won the gold medal among the hundreds of participants that participated in his age group.
Whenever he’s not training, the 25-year-old heartthrob keeps his body in shape by trying to do 100 pushups at home or doing calisthenics – a form of full-body exercise – as well as eating the right food.
