There’s good vibes all around the set of Bagong Umaga as the show’s leads – Heaven Peralejo, Tony Labrusca, Barbie Imperial, Yves Flores, Michelle Vito, and Kiko Estrada – goof around with their senior co-stars and the production team.
Bagong Umaga follows the story of the six characters whose lives have long been intertwined. With a plot that’s anchored on friendship and family, the soap explores teenage troubles and romances combined with a gripping take on social injustice, hatred, and vengeance.
We get to take a peek of some behind the scene happenings courtesy of Heaven’s vlog. In the first video, the young stars prove that they are an exciting mix! There’s Yves, the life of the set and, as Heaven says, the “tirador ng food props.” He loves to show off his silly dance, says he’s single but not ready to mingle.
Michelle is the baby girl of the group. She seems fond of giving the sweetest hugs and is always caught smiling. Barbie, according to Yves, is the no-fuss ‘one of the boys.’
Kiko exudes this intimidating tough guy appeal but this footage would reveals his goofy side. Tony is the heart-stealer, a perfect combination of hotness and humor. Check him out bantering with his loveteam partner Heaven, playing on the set with a wheelchair, and flexing his biceps.
On their free day, the squad bonds over workout time turned dance showdown!
As per protocols, the artists stay in a hotel and go to limited taping locations (just within the ABS-CBN compound) for 21 days. In the next video, Heaven greets us in her fresh wake-up-like-this look before touring us around the hotel room.
Heaven is geared up for the month-long lock-in. She has her treadmill, taping chair, skincare products, and a stash of vitamins with her. She also brought her own pillows and a family portrait so the ambience would feel like home.
While on lock-in, Heaven makes sure to pamper her skin by putting on facial masks and using organic products. Aside from the facial masks, her skincare basics also include eye cream, sunblock, toner, and moisturizer.
Of course, she does not forget to have fun on the set. They say that youngsters exude contagious happy energy, so it’s not surprising to see the senior stars, production team, and the show’s directors keeping up with the enthusiasm!
Also in the cast of Bagong Umaga are seasoned thespians Kempee de Leon, Nikki Valdez, Sunshine Cruz, Glydel Mercado, Cris Villanueva, Bernadette Allison, and Rio Locsin.
As she takes on a challenging role, Heaven is starting to feel how exhausting the ‘artista’ life can be. But at the end of the day, she’s grateful for the opportunity to headline her own show, still have a job amid the pandemic, and learn more about acting. Heaven promises to always give her best.
