She might be the deceitful and fearsome Matadora in the primetime series “Bagani”, but, in real life, Aiko Melendez is actually a doting, supportive, and awesome mother to her two beloved children Andre and Marthena.

Between the two, it’s her son with actor Jomari Yllana, Andre, who is more visible to the public as he treads a similar path as her in show business. Meanwhile, her daughter with ramp model Martin Jickain, Marthena, is off the limelight and excels as a volleyball varsity player. She may have not chosen yet to be a celebrity like her half-brother and mom, but with her mestiza looks, we can say that she indeed has a spot in this industry.

Every time they are seen together, onlookers can’t help but gush over how striking their resemblances are, with many commenting that she really is a “carbon copy” of the actress-politician, especially during her teenage years.

Aside from her mestiza splendor, she also mesmerizes with her bluish-gray eyes, which she got from the Spanish blood of her mom and the German blood of her dad. Thus, it’s the reason why she looks like a foreigner. She was born on July 28, 2006 and had her first public appearance when she was three months old during her baptism in October of that year.

Despite having the beauty and the connections in the industry, it seems that showbiz is not yet on the horizon for her. She has been elusive and appears to prefer staying out of the limelight, and even refrains from being active on social media, unlike her fellow Gen Zs. Instead, she’s inclined to sports, as she plays volleyball and is, in fact, a member of her school’s varsity team.

She may be now a teenager, but Marthena is not shy in showing her closeness with her Mama. Apparently, she is Aiko’s favorite companion in most of her errands and events that she attends, and even plays as third wheel on Aiko’s dates with her longtime boyfriend, Congressman Jay Khonghun of 1st District of Zambales, to whom both the kids have an amicable bond with. Marthena still sleeps beside her Mama at night and loves to go twinning with her when it comes to their OOTDs.

For Marthena’s 16th birthday in 2022, Aiko posted two selfies of them that she captioned, “Happy birthday, my mini me [Marthena]. I thank the Lord that you are my daughter! I love you, my baby girl! I am proud to be your mom.”
