Two is company. Three is a crowd. Ten is a party! While most people have wished to have a sibling or two, we can say that Bagani actor Makisig Morales is overly blessed to have nine! In fact, he is the second child among their Davaoeño parents Uldarico and Jacqueline. He has three brothers and six sisters, namely, Mayumi, Makisig, Magiting, Maaya, Maliksi, Marikit, Mahinhin, Malambing, Maningning, and Matikas.

Just when we assume that having a huge family like theirs is difficult to handle, it’s apparently not the case for them since they are all tightly bonded to each other – as seen in the photos and videos that Makisig and his other family members have posted on social media. Since they have close-knit ties, it didn’t come as a surprise when all 12 of them, along with their grandma, migrated to Australia where his father was able to find a job.

They may have been based in the Land Down Under for years now, but Makisig still occasionally visited here in the Philippines, such us when he had his acting comeback in the 2018 fantasy-drama series Bagani as Dumakulem.

In line with this, he had a guesting in Magandang Buhay, through which he’s able to give us a glimpse of his unbreakable bond with his siblings, who he already missed then since he had to be apart from them. According to him, he’s actually the closest to the youngest ones, particularly their bunso Matikas, who’s one of the most affectionate among them.

Those who have been following his life in-and-out of showbiz would know that it’s not only Makisig who is talented in their family, since talent apparently runs in their family. It can be recalled that not just him who tried his luck in the now-defunct ABS-CBN reality singing competition Little Big Star (2005-2007), but also his eldest siblings Mayumi and Vincent. However, it was only him who made it to the end, finishing as the 2nd Honor.

In the following years, two of his siblings followed his footsteps in showbiz as child actors. Maliksi appeared in a number of series, such as Agua Bendita (2010), Momay (2010), Mula sa Puso (2011), and Guns and Roses (2011); while Marikit was seen in Kristine (2010) and an episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya. In an interview with PUSH in 2011, the Super Inggo lead star imparted that there was never actually any jealousy or sibling rivalry in their family, even when he was the only actor in the family before.

Now, his Ate Mayumi has been married since 2018 and has finally achieved her ambition of being a classical singer in Australia. Meanwhile, Makisig, who also tied the knot with wife Nicole Joson in 2019, has performed in a number of live shows, mostly in Perth where they’ve been residing in the past decade, and even had his own concert.

His younger sisters Maaya and Malambing are also confidently displaying their singing chops, too, by uploading videos of their song covers on social media and YouTube. Maaya actually had a virtual guesting in a US-based radio station. Maningning and Matikas, on the other hand, are thriving in sports and athletics.

We may not know what the other siblings of Makisig are up to, but their public posts on Facebook hint that their family has been actively participating in various church activities.

With the amount of musical talent that they have, we really hope to see Makisig and his family together in one performance!
