Apart from the riveting plot, what also excites us every time a new television series is going to air is the stellar roster of cast that will breathe life to the characters we're about to love or hate through its run.
Five months ago, we were introduced to a new squad comprised of five young valiant heroes -- Lakas, Ganda, Lakam, Dumakulem, and Mayari -- incredibly portrayed by Enrique Gil, Liza Soberano, Matteo Guidicelli, Makisig Morales, and Sofia Andres, respectively, through the fantasy series Bagani.
But as the narrative continues to unfold and develop, we also got acquainted with other notable characters personified by veteran, seasoned, and new breed of actors.
On its pilot episode, we were welcomed by the enthusiastic Liksi (Zaijian Jaranilla), clad in an ethnic attire, who narrated the colorful history of Sansinukob and its five different regions. Just when thought that it was only a cameo role, he later on shocked the viewers when he took the spot of Mayari in the elite group after her untimely, tragic death.
The Baganis wouldn't be chosen if they did not possess unmistakable skills and enormous strength. However, we all know that those alone were not going to be enough to defeat the evil monstrous beings that attacked the fictional island. Thus, one of their deities, Apo (Diether Ocampo), sent five mythical creatures that could help them in their battles -- Bernardo Carpio (Benjie Paras), Kataw (Ahron Villena, Liwliwa (Cora Weddell), Makiling (Maricar Reyes-Poon), and Minokawa.
Throughout their action-packed and challenging adventures, they met a lot of people who became their friends, such as Taga-Laot's beautiful lass Alon (Shy Carlos). At the same time, they also encountered new enemies, like the cunning goddess Malaya (Kristine Hermosa), who we initially thought would help Ganda and Lakas in their journey in the Land of Second Chances but made the lives of the people of Sansinukob miserable. She was the doting mother of Sarimaw (Ryan Eigenmann) and Apo and wife to Bathala (Raymond Bagatsing). She forged alliance with the ruthless Gaki (Justin Cuyugan) and has two servants named Mahiko (Lance Pimentel) and Mahika (Francesca Ysabel "Chelsea" Bernasconi).
The wise queen of mermaids Gandara (MJ Lastimosa) and the obnoxious Tulisans, such as Tongtong (Thou Reyes), Dagat (Wacky Kiray), and Marikit (Charlie Dizon), led by the femme fatale Matadora (Aiko Melendez), used to give them a hard time as well, but they become allies in the end.
What awaits for these characters fate in this well-loved series? Find out by not missing the remaining episodes of Bagani, weeknights after FPJ's Ang Probinsyano on Primetime Bida.
