Nash Aguas has been in the industry for over a decade after joining the industry as a child star. Through the years he has earned roles on one teleserye after another. Now, as a star on the primetime series A Soldier’s Heart, he is proving that there is still more to him as an actor. So, while we anticipate his continuous growth on-screen, Nash is looking back at some of his best moments in this Entertainment.ABS-CBN.com exclusive throwback!
Goin’ Bulilit
One of the many roles that he portrayed on Goin’ Bulilit was newscaster Junior Babay for a spoof of TV Patrol World. Nash recalls having to memorize all of his lines on the kiddie gag show, which was sometimes a page long monologue. He considers it training to be an actor. Meanwhile, gag shows like Banana Split had prompters for the cast to read off. “Napakadaya n’yong lahat,” he jokingly thought.
Maria Flordeluna
From comedy to drama, his appearance on Maria Flordeluna shows just how impressive his skills are. It is normal for them to feel conscious of their looks whenever they have to cry in a scene. So, letting go is something they have to learn. The first time Nash let his guard down was for an emotional scene on Maria Flordeluna with Albert Martinez. He was running late for a Goin’ Bulilit taping in Davao and just wanted to catch his flight. “Gustong gusto ko na lang gawin ‘yung eksena. Wala na kong pake kung magawa ko nang tama o hindi. Basta niramdam ko lang siya kaya lumabas na maganda,” he shared.
The Good Son
Who could forget his performance on the hit series The Good Son? “Wala ako gaano ma-say kasi that time nag-shut off ako,” he described his mindset in a scene with Jerome Ponce. They received a script weekly and there were times when the whole week was filled with heavy scenes. In preparation, he isolated himself in his tent. “Sobrang bigat nung pinagdaanan ni Calvin na parang hindi ko alam saan huhugutin,” he admitted. Nash had to purposely make himself feel sad just to internalize the role. “’Yan ang pinaka mabigat yatang teleseryeng nagawa ko sa buong buhay ko,” he added.
