At the boot camp, the recruits continue to undergo more rigorous combat exercises including obstacle course drills, lectures on navigation and orientation, core-strengthening activities, and underwater tests. An instructor discusses the alternative ways to know one’s location without the aid of compass or any other GPS-base devices. Abe (Carlo Aquino) impresses everyone as he explains how the moon, stars, and trees could determine directions.
The trainees are divided into pairs and are tasked to punch their buddies as hard as they could to develop their cores. While taking in their comrades’ blows, the candidates remind themselves of the reasons why they fought for so long. Michael (Nash Aguas) takes inspiration from his mother and siblings and Benjie (Yves Ramos) from his Kuya Olan (Ketchup Eusebio). An overly confident Gorio (Angelo Ilagan) feels unbeatable while Phil (Jerome Ponce) gets motivation from the people belittling his abilities. Meanwhile, Alex (Gerald Anderson) is determined to fight for his dreams. A flashback displays the candidates’ lives outside the camp.
On the 178th night of training, Major Lucente (Mon Confiado) gathers the cadets and orders them to take off their shoes and use their shirts to blindfold their eyes. Major Lucente says the trainees will be sent as reinforcement to a war in Mindanao.
While blindfolded and off to a still unknown place, some of the recruits express their doubts. But the superiors keep mum. An unidentified group of men block the convoy and holds the cadets in hostage. The trainees are tortured while Alex is brought to a separate area and is beaten up. The mystery man repeatedly dunks Alex’s head into a drum of water. Alex manages to take off his blindfold, fights it out, and discovers that the opponent is none other than Elmer (Vin Abrenica).
